A couple of questions on Chrono play
The shield 5 is great at clearing Break bars, I use Sw/Sw and Sw/Sh in most fractals, with great results, normally I will have one iAvenger up and two swordsman or 3 swordsman and using the shield as an aoe damage that can be redirected and as general cc since no target limit and to clear Breakbars.
On Wells I run Precognition and recall, and GW for elite.
I swap put recall depending on fractal level and fractal dungeon do to instability and so on.

So I’m running Chrono at the moment but there are a couple of things I’m not sure on, wanted to see what other people thought. (This is all PvE based btw).
Firstly, shield: While I love the new mechanics they do seem a little lackluster (personal opinion!). When running a fractal I can’t really see any reason run a shield over one of the “standard” offhands (pistol / focus assuming sword is always on). The alacrity from the warden doesn’t seem like it would make up for the increased dps on the other phantasms? That said, the 5 skill actually does some damage and has a nice stun. It just seems like a pistol would do the job better?
Wells: What are people running in group settings? The damage from calamity is okay-ish but it seems more useful from an aoe weakness pov, action and recall seem to me like the go to strongest. Is it worth running mimic for a second well of recall rather than calamity? (assuming no encounter specific mechanic requires the slots).
I know that there’s no definitive one-spec-catches-all but I was curious to seem how others felt.
Shield is alright. It’s great taking out a break bar and does give some quickness, but then you can’t start always start out with 3 phantasms. action and recall are the go to for PvE, however well of precognition is nice if your group is having some problems vs some bosses. If you don’t need feedback I would take mimic over well of calamity. That being said which well you mimic depends on your group comp. I’d lean on the side of well of recall.

The lack of damage is compensated for the Alacrity/Slow that it pulses as it simultaneously buffs up to 5 allies while de-buffing 5 enemies. Against bosses, the skill also ticks away at their breakbars. The block duration is also great in situations where the single blocks from other weapons would either not be enough. The 5 skill has no target limit so you can buff your whole team + minions as well as stun all enemies within the trajectory of the wall.
For the most part I run Shield and Sword for offhands. when I need reflects I choose Focus. Pistol has gotten shelved, and Torch is used for the odd blast finisher or stealth run.
When it comes to wells my preference is Recall, Action, Calamity, Precognition. My bar is typically Mimic, Recall, Action. Mimic is reserved for Recall. If a small amount of reflects are needed then the secondary well is swapped out for Feedback.
Heal skill is still Ether Signet to be able to start a fight with 3 Phantasms for maximum F5 duration. Elite is Time Warp
Typical starting rotation is to summon 3 phantasms: Swordsman, Swordsman (from Signet), and Avenger → F5 Shatter -> Time Warp -> Mimic -> Well of Recall -> Secondary Well (usually Action) – Mimicked Well of Recall -> and Tides (if I can squeeze it in).
Once the Rift breaks I’ll try to cast a second Tide as catching the returns of both of the Tides will reduce the cooldown of the shield 5 skill by 20 seconds. From there it’s a matter of using my Wells again, and shattering once I know I can resummon my Phantasms.
Ultimately, Chronomancer emphasizes the role of being the team buff bot. At that point your damage isn’t going to be outstanding, but you more than compensate for that by buffing your teams actions and cooldowns through the roof.
