This ideas been lurking on my mind for a while. I dont expect it to be implemented but just wanted to share it Btw, This idea is more for PvE. I honestly dont care for what goes on with pvp.

Ok so, what if the mesmers system went on clone evolutions. What i mean by this is:

You start with max illusions (3). They also do decent damage, about 200-400 and can still die.
-Clones can be respawned by killing an enemy or on a timed interval. Weapons no longer spawn clones but instead empower your mind, boosting power on clones.

-After 5-10 kills, the clones/illusions will then evolve into a phantasm.

-If they get a killing blow, they evolve into a phantasm.

-Phantasm have a basic attack as well as there special attacks.

-The F1-F4 abilities woudnt be shatter but commands:
*F1 : Attack
*F2 : Unleash (Would use a phantasms special ability {iLeap, etc})
*F3 : Not sure what could be added here >_<
*F4 : Strategic Retreat (Pull clones/phants back to you, putting them in passive mode)

So far thats all i came up with on this design.

So like a better version of a ranger’s pet? :p

Interesting, I personally don’t think I would enjoy playing in that way, but it is a good variation.

Not better versions, rangers pet will still have more hp and defense :P

Yes, when it comes to illusions I prefer shattering them – because I like the visual effect with them arching back and clenching their fists – I like the artistic design of shattering, elegant and beautiful.
