Well, I’ve leveled engineer to 52 now and I’m just plain out disappointed in every way about how it’s going. I’ve leveled mesmer to 23 and it feels, weird if you will. I feel like my doing no damage and I take lots of damage. I’ve heard mesmer doesn’t get “good” until get to higher levels because they are very trait based. Is this true? I’m having a big case of altitus and can’t decide which class im going to stick with until 80.

Mesmer is more about playstyle than anything else.

Only time I ever had problems on my mesmer were higher level story quests and the propensity of the undead.

I soloed (or could have soloed) every single skill challenge without breaking a sweat.

It’s a little true, but not really true. Much like any class, a Mesmer gets more entertaining with more levels. Tbh, a Mesmer is only “broken” for the first like 6 levels. They get a lot more interesting by level 20. There’s no point after 20 where a Mesmer goes from “bad” to "good. They’re basically great at level 7 and get better.

If this is not the case for you … try a different class.

If you like PvP, I recommend trying out sPvP for a bit (where you are level 80 with access to everything).
