A thread to say thank you

Yes, it’s good to know there can be some sort of dialogue about these things.
Yes, thank you. While I would have lived with the nerf and adapted I can’t say I wasn’t pretty darn excited to see this nerf reversal.
Thanks Devs and Community team.
I have to say nerfing deceptive evasion would do nothing to really nerf mesmers other than hurt our quality of life. Clones are already super delicate. Mesmers don’t need any nerfs to clone production considering most classes auto attacks can one shot them.
arigato gozaimasu~!
Well to be fair, rejoinding the argument Anet provided- “hhe, hehe, Purple… cheese..” wasn’t so difficult.
They still made a joke of the mesmer in that preview. No apologies given.
While I am thankful that the balance team eventually saw the light and had the flexibility to prevent a potentially disastrous nerf, I’m more thankful to all the people who worked tirelessly on the forums to bring this to their attention.
So thanks to all who took to the streets and raised a ruckus.
Viva La Resistance!
Hopefully now we can finally put ‘Purple-Cheesegate’ behind us.
Well done everyone!
Im glad that we were listened to and a bad change was rethought. But i worry when items that were off the radar for most of us (Illusion of Drowning) are the only things that are getting openly discussed by the devs. It makes me think that the planned changes are either so massive they cant discuss them or they are non existent and there is nothing to discuss.
A simple statement of the overall goal of the changes would go a long way to put my mind at ease, or to at least let me understand whats supposed to be happening instead of thinking the devs are just throwing darts.
“Purple-Cheesegate” will not be behind us until the devs show some understanding of the wants and needs of the community… it was never about the changes but the complete lack of understanding about the problems.
Either way, we’ll see what happens when the patch hits – I’m not going to hold it against them.
I’m sure someone in there has a good overview/vision in mind for the mesmer.

They’ve never displayed it. Not once. So whoever this guy is he needs to open his mouth and get involved with the rest of the development team.

yes the professionalism in that preview was atrocious. I know they are game developers and this is in fact a game. You would think that people would treat their livelihood with a little bit more seriousness.
did they reconsider it?
where?
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.
fait in raging players – restored
good thread

Just pm me for my advice! Always eager to help!”

Fortunately I didn’t watch the video, so I’m blissfully ignorant about the way they handled it. I’m hoping by being positive it might encourage any of the devs who care about thus class to step up and make the changes needed.

Ironically it was overwhelming negativity that made them have a change of mind.

If it had been overwhelming positivity i’m sure they would have hotfixed it in by next small patch ^^

Yeah, sad but true.
im very glad anet listened this time. this change would have been a major nerf for the entire class and affected a lot of builds and i think they didnt intend that.
ty anet for listening!
