I was thinking on these new terms for confusion:

  • Stackeable in time, not intensity.
  • Ends its effect on skill activation.
  • Damage dealt = Activated skill damage & conditions.

It’d work like something between blindness and feedback.

Thoughts?

setting it to stack duration unfortunately would turn it into a weaker poison, mesmers have little trouble keeping a stack of confusion up at all times if they build around it, we need the stacks for damage more than duration

I don’t know why would you compare this to poison. I’m describing a mechanic that punishes you for not paying enough attention. Why would you compare that with poison?

I’m asking the next skill to backfire at you if you have confusion on.

Leave it as it is, its powerful if used right and stacking duration will make it alot less potent.

i think you guys didn’t quite get op’s idea, confusion making foes hurt themselves (like in pokemon, you attack but the attack hurts you instead of me HA!) sound quite interesting, imagine those glass cannon warriors or thieves, oh those tears would be so delicious!!! xD

in that kind of setup, stacking for duration makes sense.

first, make it deal its full damage in spvp (why its not i have no flying **** ideas why). second, in pve make it so mobs take damage every time they attack no use a skill because in pve as it is is almost useless. Maybe decrease its damage for pve but 8 stacks of confusion for 3sec won’t do anything most of the times which is a joke. Confusion should work EXACTLY like SS worked in gw1.

Fact: every Thief tells you to “l2p” when the subject is to nerf stealth.

Confusion as it is is just awful. The suggested changes would make it an exceptional way of punishing those who don’t pay attention, and especially punishing selfish glass-cannon builds.

For those who think its powerful now I’m asking why you think so? If you build around it you lose pretty much all other sources of damage. Then YOU get punished severely when someone pays attention and lets his friends kill you instead.

Confusion is simply not powerful enough to build around. It would be infinitely more useful in the way OP suggested.
