Add some finisher on shatter skills?
It has Been mentioned before however if you think of all shatter skills being say blast finishers then we are going to turn into one of the best classed for stacking/blasting fields. A 4 clone shatter would turn into 12 stacks of might on a fire field on top of shattered strength.
I think that would be wildly overpowered in capture the point. It could simply be a buff to Illusionary Person where you add a blast to the spot that you’re on instead of creating 1-4 blasts.
I honestly think just adding a blast onto GS 3 would be enough for Mesmer.

It would be nice if using a shatter skill counts as 1 blast finisher at your location. For each illusion would be kinda overkill. It would add some combo field play in both, pve and pvp.
But I’d rather improve the shatter abilities itself than this, or simply add something different to each shatter skill, for example blast finisher to F1, random condition to F2, aoe daze on default at F3 and F4 is pretty fine as it is right now. Oh yea and remove that reduced damage thing – it’s not cool

Well hopefully the revenant gets toned down before its released. Otherwise sPvP is going to turn into 5v5 all revenant teams… And that won’t be boring to watch at all.

First of all, Mesmer isn’t a class that is predisposed to having “blast finishers”. Let me give you some statistics so that everyone understands. Access to blast finishers according to class:
- Engineer 18
- Elementalist 14
- Warrior 12
- Guardian 5
- Necromancer 3
- Thief 2
- Ranger 2
- Mesmer 1
These numbers includes all types of skills & traits available. Rangers have it on one weapon and one pet skill. Thief has a utility and one weapon. Necromancer have it on one weapon and 2 utilities. I don’t play with GS very often, but it’s the only weapon that makes sense to add a blast finisher to. None of our utilities make sense whatsoever.
The other ways they could give us blast finishers would require too much work than what it’s worth (either through traited clone deaths or shatters). And considering there’s a lot of things they could be working on for the Mesmer class, I’d rather them pool their efforts into more important things.
So yeah, just give us the blast on Mind Stab and call it a day Anet!

Shield could have a nice blast finisher… But then again putting shield on a mesmer is already a sin.

That’s why they’re putting it on the Chronomancer ;-)
Also, I don’t think we’ll only get the shield. So far we can surmise:
Ranger: Staff (confirmed)
Necromancer: Greatsword (confirmed)
Engineer: Hammer (confirmed?)
Mesmer: Shield (all but confirmed)
Thief: Rifle (conjecture based on videos)
Guardian: Bow (conjecture based on videos)
Warrior/Ele unknown
I might have missed info on the last two so I left them unknown. But if evidence is pointing towards most everyone else getting a full 5 new skills then I doubt Mesmer is just getting 2 from a shield. Odds are they realize that Mesmers are lacking in mainhand options so they gave us another main hand (unreleased, but I’d guess pistol). Which means to put us on par for the expansion we needed an offhand and Shield is probably the best fit if they want to keep us diverse from Thieves.
Maybe 1 sec ICD on trait then? Tbh i d rather have a trait like that replacing heal on shatter grandmaster trait any day.

The Revenant have so many blast finisher and a 100% projectile finisher on the hammer AA. While they nerfed (bug) our iDuelist…
Don’t think they will give many more finishers to us.
