It was mentioned by a dev a few months ago that they were looking into addressing Mesmers having a more reliable way to get a speed boost. Has any official response been given since then? I hate being pigeonholed into either using a crappy Rune configuration or using Focus for speed. Even Guardians, who are in a similar boat as us, have 2 utilities to use on top of the staff if they want speed.

Maybe they could add swiftness to any clone generating ability and allow them to be used without a target (like staff2)? That way we trade off a cool-down that may not be up at the start of a fight for mobility?

Honestly don’t see how that will work. I use Staff2 to start combat (Staff3—>2 and get an auto attack means 3 attacks hit before I get into combat, I can then roll —> shatter if I want and that kills most normal mobs).

If you added Swiftness, that would be counter-intuitive unless they removed the backwards teleport which is what made the skill… well, the skill. (I also use it when seeing enemies and to teleport away BEFORE they hit me.)

I think they can adjust a passive talent that gives swiftness on shatters.
