Guild Wars 2

Hi all,
I’m a devoted necromancer and (necro) YouTuber, but lately I’ve been exploring other professions. And you guessed it, mesmer is one of them. As a power necro (without much of a burst), I really like the bursts available to a shatter mesmer (4X MW in a blurred frenzy while iDuelist is unloading is the best).

So lately I’ve watched some YouTube vids (and read the stickies in the forums) of shatter mesmers (Vash, Joe, etc.) and learned quite a lot that I put to use in hotjoint matches, and I did pretty well.
I’ve mainly been using Vash’s sword+T/GS build, and Joe’s assassin’s sword+P/Staff build and played those builds for about a week each before recording stuff.

I always like to get better, and since I have a running YT account I made a vid (with music :P) to demonstrate how I play.

Any input on how I could get better is appreciated. I put in both clips of me winning and losing so it’s not just a one-sided thing. Thanks in advance

The vid was what he said it was, which was fine.

You can aslo Immobilize them with sword 3 and then burst them with GS, more damage than simply Blurred + Shatter.

You honestly did well. One thing that I saw was you didn’t use diversion/distortion amazingly, but it was fine tbh. Just be sure to use distortion at the time you will take the most damage (thief steal, eviscerate, inc shatter etc….) and to use diversion for interrupting something key, like a evis or a heal, especially heal . Sometimes you used them kinda randomly.

You used a couple of different ways to burst someone, which is very good, since always ileaping into MW is predictable and will always be dodged. Fortunately your hotjoin didn’t have very good players so you always hit ileap.

I kinda laughed at the good lockdown Mesmer though, he wasn’t very good and he was just shatter with the mantra lol. If it was a good lockdown mes you wouldn’t even get a skill off

It’s true that I’m not sure how to use shatters at the right time, i try to get the heals but I usually fail :/
And I saw the sword/focus GS with mantra so I thought lockdown, but I wasn’t sure :P

Well, I think your server is EU, if I’m not mistaken. I know OMFG has section for players in those servers too and a private arena was recently (ish) opened. I am sure someone there might be willing to teach you in the arena.
