just the title, wee need death blossom treatment
sometimes it’s so suicidal you eat all the damage
and with an evade added on that skill you can add some mobility to the spec

I actually hadn’t thought about this but that would be perfect. If you’re in close range it’s the one ability that really sets you apart from your phantasms making you easy to pinpoint. And it’s your main method of clone generation, so if it gets interrupted that’s one less clone.

It certainly won’t fix everything that’s wrong with the spec, but it would be a huge help. Perhaps this and making the illusion benefit from mirage trait baseline, it would solve a majority of the issues with this spec. (Along with making ambush attacks actually do decent damage – for power and condi builds or at the very least more direct damage.)

That would be broken beyond belief, between evades, distortion, perma vigor, mirrors, built-in mobility and axe 2 mesmers would be virtually untouchable.

At least Defensively it would probably be objectively better than sword if it did that, while being an easier shatter set up tool, with only slightly less damage and prob pretty similar to power after you calculate the condi ticks… Not that Sword does all that much damage to begin with.

Axe 2 if it kept it’s animation it would be a mobile evade even if it had less frames compared to blurred frenzy’s root. Not to mention Axe 2 get you two uses, and two clones.

While Axe 3 puts your illusions right at your target with only a 3/4 cast, and forces target drop. Compared to Illusionary leap sending a clone after 1/2 cast, that puts a visible little foot notification, that after swapping sends the illusion all the way to where you were, presuming the clone even lives.

I agree the only defensive mechanic for that weapon (being that it drops target) is a bit lacking, but I would rather not see it get buffed that far, and it keep it’s identity separate.

A short evade frame could be fun but I’d prefer for it to just be a far quicker attack.

Oh hell yes.

If Axe 2 had evade it would be so much better. I’d even trade for a longer cooldown in order to get evade.

In addition axe 3 really needs to have z axis teleport properly sorted so you can blink up/down terrain to chase targets.
