Another mesmer rework idea
Sure, if our personal DPS is at least tripled and phantasms don’t lose any damage then this sounds find. That way with 3 phantasms out we would still be dealing slightly less personal damage than we already do.
We just need an entire rework of the illusion mechanic, and this unfortunately does not go far enough. It helps with no phantasms out, but starts cutting our damage pretty severely as soon as we get even 1 out, which means that 1 of our 5 weapon skills will always be a DPS loss (which fundamentally doesn’t make sense).
Don’t get me wrong, this would help in content where we don’t have any phantasms or only have 1 (which is often the case with trash mobs), but it doesn’t solve the fundamental problem with illusions, it just moves it somewhere else. Instead of cutting our damage when we shatter (which is how it works now), we would lose damage when using weapon skill 4 (or 3 for staff cause its kittened).
