Guild Wars 2

Hey!
I’v been playing GW2 for about 3 months and I have been playing Warrior.
Now I want to try a different Profession which you could guess probably is the Mesmer.

The thing is that they are SO SLOW! 1 thing that you want while exploring the world, doing hearts and other stuff is SPEED (Which warrior greatsword and sword/war horn
give A LOT!

So if any one here may have a fun, fast and effective leveling build please help me and post it here

My best advice is to hop into the Crown Pavilion and do gold runs to level up your mesmer. You can use sorta a mantra nuker build or something, it doesn’t really matter hugely and what you want will change per boss.

If you can’t level in the CP gold runs, I advise you to do PvP and get level up tomes from that. Past the 15th, leveling a mesmer has gone from difficult to simply unfun, and you’ll just end up hating the class if you try to level it the normal way.

Lazy Kai’s build (google for it) is still probably the best build for leveling (especially in the Boss Blitz arena, where it’ll help you get tags, etc.).

For what it’s worth (I’m new and I’ve just made 80 on my mesmer today), I found the condition stacking staff kiting approach from Mr Prometheus worked best of the things I tried. It seemed to kill things at least as fast as the phantasm builds (especially below level 60) and kept me alive a lot better.

NB: It worked well for solo open world area completion, but I suffered a terrible shock when I tried kiting in a dungeon.

The most versatile level build and beyond I can recommend:

0 / 2 (IV) / 5 (V, X) / 3 (VI) / 4 (III, VII) Staff, Sword/x

Staff for conditions and kiting purpose (vets in early levels, later champs & groups only)
Sword/x for melee
Second minor trait in Inspiration for the regeneration boon while being close to a phantasm

There are many possibilities to swap traits that are situationally needed, like Dueling IV for II or Inspiration VI for IV or Illusions VII for X to either make yourself more durable or push Phantasm dmg output a little bit or being able to kite with nearly no problem. For Utility skills I recommend Signet of Ether, Mirror Images, Signet of Domination, Signet of Inspiration. For Elite skill I have no preferences. If you do not take Inspiration IV swap Mirror Images for Mantra of Resolve.

Just join the EotM train and it doesn’t matter what build you have… spec for speed to catch the train
