I only got to try this for a couple of minutes and didn’t record video, but I didn’t see the protection boon proc when I got the Phantasmal Defender via Mental Defense trait.

I was in a party with a friend. We both stood next to a mob. I attacked it and then blocked it’s attack. Phantasmal defender appeared and illusion of defense effect showed up, but no Protection boon.

Did I read the notes wrong? Is it actually that illusion of defense effect is 33% reduction? I thought the tooltip showed a protection boon.

Its an added effect on cast end. Only with utility phantasm.

I think the Mental Defense tip inherits the utility phantasm description, but you don’t actually get the protection.
