Arcane Thievery iffy
The skill is quite buggy.
Unblockable doesn’t mean they can’t dodge it.
Make sure you have LoS and in range when you cast it, best to do it in stealth when you can position yourself properly.
That’s all I know about the skill.
I use it all the time, and what the above says is true. Only thing to add is don’t use it while blinded.

Alternative? Only condi removal I have is torch and I can’t afford dropping my +cond duration food
I’m running an aggressive 20/20/30 PU build, sword/torch, scepter/pistol ,mix rabid and rampager, no dissipation.
I don’t like running Veil, Null Field was the option before, but with the duelist’s nerf, it’s rather average.
I should say I roam bl’s solo or in small groups and I’m only worried about quickly disposing of condition bursts.
Well if thats the case then you are better off with something else. Arcane thievery only get rid of 3 condi’s, your much better off with a more reliable source of negating conditions. IMO null field is a personal favorite. It does its job of clearing my condi’s (pretty much all of them) and stripes the boons off melee classes coming after me.
Plus it’s on a much shorter cooldown.

I use it all the time. It’s pretty buggy but still it’s a must imo if you want to kill eles, necros and pretty much any class that tries to condi burst you.
It’s really strict. I think they also changed it so that it can’t effect an opponent’s pet so you might waste it completely if you accidentally select a minion. What they need to do is make it so it ALWAYS cleanses 3 conditions no matter what. Also, if you’re not targeting anyone it should just pick the closest opponent. For a 45 second CD you simply can’t afford for a skill to fizzle like that.

Idk about Null Field, I don’t like the idea of having to stay still, in it, for several seconds. I lose positioning, which is especially important in 1v2 or 1v3. It’s not a HUGE deal, but I would still classify NF as an average utility.
Another option would be to equip Signet of Domination and instead of clearing conditions (till I can los or stealth again), interrupt a condition burst. Easier said than done though, necros drop that condi hammer quickly, so do engis and thieves. Also, SoD has the same mechanical problems as Arcane Thievery.
Let’s say Arcane Thievery did not reset to it’s full cd once it missed. Take Confusing Images, one more clunky skill we have, but at least, once you are prevented from casting it, it goes to a couple of secs cd. That would work for me.
I guess making it an instant cast would work too, bet we’d get much better results.
Its SUPERDUPER bugged.
Been this way since launch, I’m sure there is abajillion bug report threads about it and it’s yet to really be mentioned by a dev.
So I wouldn’t really get your hopes up about it getting fixed any time soon.
