Soooo, another level 80 on its way.
Currently running staff / sword-pistol(focus for speed buff >.< ).

As with my necro armor thread, i run small gang hit and runs, skirmishes and camp warfare.

Currently standing at 1300+ combat tokens and willing to drop them into a full exotic invader set (1866 iirc for full armor set) OR as with my other characters i can craft an exotic set.

Build is based around phantasms (called a ‘legion’ build).

Are phantasms hp/toughness a % of your own?
Does precision affect them?

Which is better to get first bezerkers? invaders? or other?

It is indeed, but afaik he only runs in Spvp, there are similarities but WvW can be very different (also armor choices).

GS – S/P is a powerful Mesmer Combo and has been for a while. Taugrim picked up on it due to suggestions for it I beleive.

As far as how you run an armor build. That depends on your intent.

Burst Mesmers will go full ‘physical’ (Power + Crit + Crit Damage.) But in WvW, you’re likely better off supplanting Critical Damage for Condition damage.

Essentially, it’s a Berserker’s pieces vs Rampager’s pieces.

I play full zerk gs-s/p in wvw and it’s pretty much god mode. I’d say staff+malice are better vs serious opposition, but there isn’t any in wvw.

There’s some optimization room left in the zerk gear because the crit dmg % is too quantized.

Sounds like you do wvw, hope your group have multiple run buffs since you dont.

I sure cant stand slogging around without either focus or teleport(maxed range/cd)

I can’t see rampagers being of any use to me as i use no conditions, zerkers is on my mind however for obvious max dps chances.

As with my necro build, crit chance is too low for me to find crit damage ‘properly’ useful (though it is damnn nice to crit auto attack in lich form with blood buff now).

I do keep a focus for the small run buff cos yes the speed thing can become an issue in WvW.

Its still a toss up of zerkers, knights or invaders for me.
Valk’s works too but crit dmg + low crit chance is still iffy though may pay well from zerker illusion.

Zerk is incredibly good for sniping opponents with GS, or dropping devastating izerkers on walls. Feel free to add a bit of survivability, but I never felt any need for it in wvw or pve.

Focus is the best offhand for WvW, its 4 is really an awesome spell. Speed buff, cripple foes and make them fall from walls. Iwarden isn’t that good for wvw imo, but you don’t really need any phantasm other than izerker anyway.
