Guild Wars 2

Well, I’m finally at the point where I can afford most of a set of ascended armor, trinkets, and weapons!

I haven’t settled on a build yet, but I’d love some advice on what I should get, if any.

Goals:
-WvW oriented ( don’t do much PvE)
-Power based gear (mostly I play phantasm, shatter, or power-PU, rarely condi)
-Enough Defense to compensate for mediocre skill level (no full zerker)

Fears:
-I’m avoiding Condi in the current meta, but worried it’ll get buffed in future patches
-I’d hate to go too defensive or too offensive. A sweet-spot mix would be great

I’d love some advice on gearing up! Right now, I’m leaning towards PVT armor, Zerker weapons, and Zerker trinkets. I’m worried that won’t give me enough defense, but not sure how to compensate and remain flexible with my build choices.

Trinkets: these are pretty easy to get. Get a set for every build.

Weapons: if you want power based wvw weapons, I’d recommend knights.

Armor: don’t. Just don’t, seriously. A full set is a stat change of like 1%.

To be honest just sell all your silk you’d be better off getting Exotic + Runes of every conceivable mesmer set than blowing 100s of gold on one ascended set, trying all the possible combinations at exotic level will make you a much better player. Generally defensive mesmer armour runs Knights on Helm, Chest and Legs with your prefered crit damage minor on the others, offensive is pure zerker or possibly celestial on the aforementioned.
