What is the best type of mesmer for competitive and organized pvp right now? I really want to bring my mesmer into the meta of gw2 but I’m finding it extremely difficult with all these warriors/necros running around owning me… What are we looking at as our best chances of being a competitive player with this class as it sits right now?

for SPvP shatter is probably the most viable build atm, but you need to play exceptionally well to make it viable.

the traits are 20/20/0/0/30 (make sure you’re taking shattered concentration), zerker trinket, lyssa or ogre runes, and blink/portal/x utilities

Yea, thats the thing ghat annoys me :/

You have to play nearly perfectly with shatter vs warriors and those thigs, and they can pretty much tank you and still deal massive damage x.x

That said, Shatter is still your best bet. You can really turn team fights around with burst damage and boon stripping.

On khylo and skyhammer I always go on the treb/skyhammer, because people usually only go alone to try and kill you :p. Skyhammer is actually my favourite map, its so easy to ein a 1vs2 ehen youre campijg skyhammer :P. When you see them coming: decoy and place temporal currtain on the glass, run over it, when they come you pull them and position yourself for an illusionary wave if needed. People get so mad xD. But I guess its their own fault for charging in blindly :P

I go with runes of speed, sword focus greatsword with 2x fire and bloodlust. (Still not sure if bloodlust or accuracy is better :/), and decoy blink manta of resolve.

In the very extremely rare occasion there are no condition enemies on the other team, ill go with mirror images.

In team fights it’s very effective with boonstripping, mass vulnerability and aoe burst. It’s also massively more fun that summoning a phantasm and watching him hit them for you.

it would be better watch top mesmer"s builds ofc with their setup with team orientations so meta.. most efficient one is shatter mesmer.. for tpvp.. however dunno why there is a lack of mesmers in tpvps nowadays.. probably could be the another question

Because most Mesmers got killed by easymode meta builds :/.

whats is easy mode mean? Risk/Reward?

That’s exactly waht easymode means. You don’t have to do much, can make alot ofmistakes, and still play at maximum effectivity.

As a shatter Mesmer, you have to play nearly flawlessly VS a meta warrior… one mistake and you take 5k hits, while they can just make mistakes over and over again and tank you :/.

Edit: It’s not that I can’t win or don’t enjoy fighting vs meta warriors, I actually do enjoy it… Atleast if I’m in super try hard mode and manage to dodge everything :P. I’m just frustrated that they have it so easy :/

20/20/0/0/30 shatter mesmer? Really? I can’t recall the last time I saw one in spvp or tpvp. I see a lot of GS phantasm builds. I still lean towards conditions though.

You don’t see them muh because it’s difficult to play… But it’s still our best bet for teamfighting.

And shatter is still the most fun for me ;D
