Best dps build?
For PvE, you have different builds depending of the uptime of reflection needed.
If you don’t need that much reflection:
If you do need a lot of reflection:
- 10/30/0/20/10
- 0/30/0/25/15 (if you think Illusionists Celerity is needed)
Some people also use the 10/20/0/25/15 but I personally don’t like it that much since we lose our damage modifier with the readied mantras and we have to rely a lot on phantasm to deal decent DPS.
All these builds use a Sword-Focus / Sword-Sword weapon set (you can also have a pistol).
For situations when you need to range, you should use a Greatsword.
For Sigil selection, you want one set with Superior Sigil of Perception for Perception stacking (that means 1 kill = 2 stacks) for dungeons where there’s plenty of trash to stack Perception (i.e. Arah, CoE, AC).
Also you want two main hands one with Superior Sigil of Accuracy when you don’t have Perception stacks, one with Superior Sigil of Force. For off hands you want one with Superior Sigil of the Night for night dungeons, and one for Arah (Superior Sigil of Undead Slaying) also one with Superior Sigil of Force for situations when you can’t stack Perception for a Accuracy / Force combo or Accuracy/Night (for night dungeons). For Greatsword, you want one with Superior Sigil of Accuracy and one with Superior Sigil of the Night (but you shouldn’t use GS that often anyway).

I personally prefer 10/30/0/30/0 since the additional utility from a 3rd inspiration trait combined with +17.25% phantasm damage is more worth than 3-9% more damage for yourself (imo).
Since Illusionists Celerity has been moved to T2 from T3, I was playing 10/20/0/25/15 but it felt pretty weak so I also tested 20/20/0/30/0 with signet cdr to increase our healing skill efficiency. I played it too for long enough and I guess 10/30/0/30 is still unbeatable and simply the best option in damage and utility aswell flexibility.

For 30/30/0/0/10 in PVE what traits should I choose if I want a sword/focus and my secondary is a greatsword
This one 30/30/0/0/10
But if you don’t use GS that much, i’d stick with I (Mental Torment) in Domination instead of X (GS Training)
10/30/0/30/0 is also what I run.
Reflects from focus just too valuable to lose, you keep empowering mantras, and I personally use the trait to heal when I charge mantras.. by far my fav skill for fractals
So What Roman Numerals did you guys use for 30/30/0/0/10?
I’m one of those who like more 10/20/0/25/15 than 0/30/0/25/15. Is the build that grants the best DPS for general use. Other build are better on specific areas, reflections or max theoretical damage, but they lose damage on others.
I have 3 big problems with Empowering mantras:
- Need a lot of readied mantras to have a good multiplier. This generates 2 bad scenarios: Or I don’t use the mantras charges, losing a lot of utility support, or I waste a lot of time recasting them, which means way less DPS.
- Only really powerful when there’s a lot of projectiles (Golems from SoE p1, mid boss from HoW p1…). And that are the least seen cases.
- With 2 iSwordman or better phantasm situation, Empowered illusions grants more DPS. And I don’t have so much problems having 2 or 3 phantasms up. Being playing phantasm builds since the game started, so I kinda know when and where summon them.

@Duke – click on the link Jerem posted, it goes to a build editor with the specific traits picked out.
Trait 10/10/0/25/0, bring all weapons except torch.
Use feedback when you need reflects, disenchanter fir condi/boon stripping, blink for blinking, signet of illusions/defender when you need nothing else.
All our utilities are quite situational, so just make sure you know what they all are before you go dungeoning.
Thats all you really need for dungeons. You didnt specify what you wanted a build for, though, so all this information could mean nothing to you. Have to be a bit more specific :p
