Best way to defend Treb
Well, Moa will get obstructed just the same as anything else.
It sounds to me like you need to work a bit on moving around the treb with them and avoiding that obstruction block of your casts, that way you can fight effectively.
I have the same problems. To be honest, it rly sucks, that it seems so easy for some professions, just to show up, ignore the defendant, kill the treb and kitten off.
Besides, you forgott Sword/X thief, staying “below” the treb and than use Sword #2, port up, make somehits (maybe even pistol whips) port back and repeate this.
What I encountered and works ok, is just to switch to Sword, or to use shatters. (Chaos storm should also work good, as the dazes might stop them from damaging the treb).
Interesting. I wasn’t aware people actually defended the treb when someone came after it.. since I’ve always found that pretty impossible to do, whether I’m using it or killing the enemy’s. I’d think your only real chance is to ignore it and focus on killing the one killing the treb.
Just let them destroy it, keep them occupied, though. It gives your team opportunity to cap points. I say this because you can easily repair it. Go to the repair kit, drop Portal Entre. Get as close to the treb as you can within range of your portal, and drop Portal Exeunt. Port, grab the repair kit, port back, repair. Then they have to take the time to destroy it all over again if they so choose, giving your team another opportunity to cap points. This absolutely can be a game-changer, because some teams are so hellbent on destroying the treb, they will have 2 or 3 people show up, thus leaving points undefended.
A trick I use to help with obstructed issues is to time a jump perfectly so that it coincides with a phantasm/ability cast just as it finishes. The game will consider you in line of sight while if you were just standing on the ground it doesn’t. This gives you a tactical advantage as you will still be obstructed to your opponent while you were able to get your skill of.
Of course this trick takes practice and you have to be able to judge when the jump will work to fix obstruction issues and when you simply have to reposition to give you the LoS you need. Other than that I just use immobilize, illusionary wave and burst damage to take them down before they take the treb down. Sadly the treb rarely survives for long either way. Best is to keep an eye out for when people come running towards you and try to intercept them.

I say just let them kill it, and then kitten them off by immediately repairing it. Between Portal and Blink, you can get to the repair kit and back in seconds.
Well, I’d say a single guy checking mid and harassing the trebber for the whole match might be useful… there is nothing as morale crushing as being attacked by a treb.
because he doesn’t know it himself

Yes there is — manning the treb and seeing you’re hitting guys on the clock tower and realizing that nobody else on your team is going to even go there to contest it before they come take the treb out. Gotta love being a solo player.
