Heya fellow mesmers.
I’ve been having a love and hate relationship with my asura and wasting a lot of gold trying to make it look good only to fail. Lets just say I could of probably had a couple of Mist weapons by now.
I have a full zerker set with hoelbrak runes on my asura along with 5 weapon out of which 3 have energy sigils. I don’t care about that much since I have enough badges and dungeon tokens to gear another character and the money for sigils/runes can be aquired in a day or two. The sigils and runes are not that mandatory as I can PvP with the new mesmer and can do dungeons with the Asura that is geared up until I level and gear the new mesmer up.
The issue to me with the asura is I have 55% map completion and a lot of areas that are an absolute PITA to explore.
I want to find the quickest way to level up the second character? Pref. within a day or two and with as little gold invested. I have enough tomes of knowledge to instantly hit level 20 on the new character. How hard are 60 levels to come by in eotm?
I know I could use the asura for everything PvE/WvW related and just PvP with the second mesmer but I do not want to do that. I’d really, really like to have a single character for everything..

On some servers and with a good commander, you can zerg around the edge of the mists. Events give lots of experience quickly and you’ll definitely hit a lot of events. When you get high enough, you can do dungeons. All Acalonian Catacombs paths, including the story, is often spedrun daily. Just be sure to join a party that doesn’t mind having a low level player. Though crafting has been nerfed, it’s also a good way to level. Jewelcrafting and Cooking as the cheapest disciplines and will each get you 7 levels when taken from 0 to 400.

On a personal note, I would suggest you take your time and do all the skillpoints while leveling. Not only do these unlock some of the traits now but you’ll need those points to buy utilities. I find it best to purchase all of them on your main because you’ll never know when you’ll need the ones that you swear you’ll never use.

Crafting, if you start at level 2 will get you up to level 12 (tested post A15). After that it will only give 7-8 levels. I have enough gold on me (around 7 now, another aesthetic purchase for my asura ..) to get cooking done, that will get me to level 12 and with 8 tomes of knowledge I’m at 20.
I have 5 experience boosters which will help. For traits, I’ll just get the few that I always use first, then work around that until I unlock them all. I really wish that if I unlocked my traits on my 1st mesmer that I get them on every other. Do I?
Regarding SP, I have like 250 scrolls of knowledge in my bank, should allow me to buy all skills..

you should have that item that makes you level 20 right away. then just craft up a couple of professions. and do the rest by doing map completion on the 4 high level zones wher eyou get exotics for map completion.

Save your scrolls and do the skillpoints. They give decent experience and there’s no point in spending “money” when you can get the same thing for free.
