Blurred Frenzy as siege defense?
TL;DR: My guild seems to think that mesmer sword #2, Blurred Frenzy, can shield siege from incoming projectiles- i.e. I can blurred frenzy in front of our trebuchet to protect it from incoming enemy trebuchet shots. I’ve tried a number of times, in front of and standing on our siege without luck. Is this possible?
I was actually thinking about that last night. I’ll be testing it as soon as I can.
you get a similar effect from skills like theif cluster bomb, or warriors arcing shot or combustive arrow.
even though those skills are ground target aoe skills, the actual projectile thats shot can be nullified through various means.
for example if the projectile hits an invulnerable person before it can reach the ground, then the projectile is destroyed with no effect, while putting the skill on full cd.
i think in the latest patch they changed treb shots to be undestroyable, so it’ll always make contact with the terrain.
Maybe your Guild just has an interesting sense of humor?
Yes it is possible I have done it some times, but it’s rarely working, cause you have to stand like less than 10 range from the center of where the bundles from either catas or trebs hit, makes defense almost impossible, but possible.
if you done it right, the enemy projectile just disappears. and no damage is done.
Also works with distortion (shatter #4)
Someone say game crash must be related to OOM
when you read the log it’s not related to that whatsoever…

this defense is hard to pull off since treb always hit in a slightly different location
