Blurred Inscriptions Trait
It was the same pre-patch, what some used to do was take signet of midnight for the instant distortion and used the healing signet in a predictable way to avoid dmg after the cast time. Now that illusionary persona is baseline you can use distortion (assuming you have zero illusions up) to setup your heal if you think you’re gonna get interrupted.
Yeah and with Insp it gets AE doled out to the team. I would have agreed with you before this patch, but I really don’t want them to touch this in fear or them swinging the evil nerf sledgehammer on it.
This has huge team support implications that I suspect we will soon see in action at higher levels of competition. I’ve had a blast with it countering the bursts of Thieves, to buy me time to setup my counter. It’s extremely effective with SoM.
In short, leave “well enough” alone!
If the distortion protected the signet cast itself, it would be completely broken. You’d have a heal with zero counter play, and could take any signet for an instantaneous distortion, one that doesn’t require any foresight to use.
The trait is good as-is.
Fine as it is, like most everything in the update. As said, it can do awesome things with the Inspiration line.
speaking of Blurred Inscriptions, could anet buff it to remove 2 conditions? i want to try some thing new other than mantra of resolve and since the meta is shifting toward conditions, removing one condition on signet cast just doesn’t cut it now
I actually like this trait and am scared to death that anet will nerf anything I like about mesmer.
Fine as is. learn to use other signets or your shatter distortion to cover cast other abilities.
