First of all, ‘bug fix?’ Yeah right. This is the biggest slap in the face to Mesmers that I’ve seen happen in a long time. Mantras were finally useful, they were finally being used in PvP and PvE, and now they’re back to being useless.

Don’t forget the nerf to Harmonious Mantras, which is a substantial hit to PvE Mesmer DPS, which is already… not great.

Three threads on this now. Perhaps contributing to an ongoing discussion would be more productive?

It was a bug fix lol , come on… Was never like that pre-patch and do you honestly think they wouldn’t announce that as a new functionality to mesmer in the preview before post-patch and EVEN when the patch hit? It’s such a big deal it would be announced as such. Now you have to be strategic with mantras as opposed to just having perma uptime no matter what to spam them at will.

It’s the same thing with rangers , when taunt was going through evades/blocks/invulns every ranger thought it was intended and was so “surprised” when it was fixed. Same as with anything that isn’t announced and is too good to be true. This is no different. The recharge in the background made mantra extremely OP with everything else mesmer has gotten. The mantra recharge was also reported as a bug well in the beginning after the patch was announced in the bug forums by players using it.

This bug fix was bound to happen and it did.
