Hi! I’m jumping back on mesmer which is at level 70 at the moment. I just got a birthday booster and I want to level him to 80 through WvW. What is the best type of build to do such a thing?

Tricky! I’d probably go for something survival-oriented, preferably ranged. A blackwater build might work well- the stealth lets you run away when you need to.

Mantra builds, phantasm builds, and support/glamour builds might also work.

Personally, I’d avoid shatter or melee builds. I often find them to be pretty gear-dependent, and you won’t have a full set of exotics while leveling

If you’re leveling up, I don’t know. I’d probably drop the 10 pts from Domination. I’m not the hugest torch fan. Clone-on-dodge and Prismatic Understanding feel so important to the build. You could probably try both and see which you prefer, if you’re inclined.

Just be warned that your damage will be a lot lower in favor of survivability. Your damage will increase substantially when you hit 80 and gear up and get those delicious perplexity runes.
