I’m really new to the mesmer, although I’ve been playing continuously since beta. If you wouldn’t mind, please take a look at this build that I’m playing around with and help pick it apart.

It is designed as a WvW zerg damage dealer that can also fight 1v1 if necessary.

I chose greatsword because of the 1200 range, and power based damage, and because I like it.

I also chose staff because I absolutely LOVE phase retreat, and the buffing/debuffing components.

I have rune of the cent for near perma swiftness, and have a relatively balanced stat distribution:

3500 Attack
40% Crit percentage in GS
82% Crit Damage
2500 Armor w/ staff
17K HPs

Here is the link to the build.

Any and all suggestions/comments are solicited and appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!!

Here is a slightly different version that is more defensive: 10/20/30/10

10/20/30/10/0

Scept/Torch+Staff/GS (2 Sets of armor Rabid and Knights)

Scept/Torch is your main 1v1 and ‘Zerg’ Survival, GS is mainly for Zergs but also ok in small 1 vs 2/3 scenarios. I would use Staff over GS if not in a zerg encounter IMHO.

that is how I play :-)

Though, as of late I am thinking of switching it up to Scept/Torch Sword/Pistol

Thanks for the response… I’ve been avoiding a condition build but really need to give it a shot.

Really appreciate the feedback!
