Guild Wars 2

Atm i got a lvl 9 asura mesmer, but im not quite sure if i should continue leveling it..
So far i like the cof set, and arah set on asura light armors, but i will i regret making a mesmer later on?

I mean, if i buy some expensive exotic, maybe even legendary, i might have some problems seeing it.

So i’ve been thinking about making a human instead, but i don’t know what would look cool on a human female mesmer..
any ideas?

I personally love playing a Charr Mesmer, their Charrzooka elite combos with all of our fields and their other racials actually work with mesmer skills (Awhile back, I did a melee all phantasm Altruist build using Altruism runes and Battle Roar, it was pretty wild)
Also gladiatorial racial armor <3

Norn have their transforms, which with wolf form in pve you can potentially stack absurd amounts of bleed

Asura are harder to click on and have Pain Inverter, they seem to be a common choice for mesmers.

Only down thing about mesmers is that the items are hard to see (i think!)
havent really tried it yet, since i dont have a 80 asura yet

I main a female human mesmer, but if I would make another one, I think I would take Asura. :-)

Although there is a lack of “female” asura armor I would mix and match her armor until she looks gorgeous. :-)

BUT if you want a stylish female looking mesmer you should go either with human or norn. ^^

And I really like Pain Inverter, so that’s another bonus. :-)

Either Asura or Sylvari. Because Asuras are amazing and small and cute, Sylvari because they can be made really pretty and they glow.

I have no idea how i should make my sylvari mesmer tho :P
talking about the standard look here, never had a sylvari, but i think they could be quite fun.

asura is by far the most superior race for a mesmer.
the only downside is,.. you wont be able to show off big shiny weapons.
and some may don’t like its armor.. looks wise.. since they will be small!
if you choose the smallest asurian.
with a small enough plain offhand, it will be hard for the enemy to notice its there,
so.. more deception to think you’re your clone.
mesmer lacks aoe, and the asurian race skill pretty much cover all your needs for event farming aoe.!
compare to a maximum size norn, you get much2 better visibility!
sometimes, your view on a small enough boss mob attack animation can be blocked by your big body.. soo.. its not good…
the hit box and the range of a norn and an asura is actually the same.! so.. you dont have to worry how far your illusion hits even with its small model!
soo i think, for usefulness, asura tops!

yeah, the only reason i wouldnt go for asura would be because it can be hard to see my shiny expensive weapons :P

Mesmerism is the art of mind magic; naturally then you want an asuran mesmer since our minds are the greatest of all!

(I have my doubts that norn and sylvari even possess a mind)

I rolled human mesmer, purely because of aesthetics. However. I regret making it human, if I were to re-roll (I play a lot of duels/WvW small roam group stuff) I’d go with an Asura, purely because they’re harder to locate, and blend in much more than humans. (this purely from a tactical point of view)

I don’t know what other classes have but for sylvari the elite skill take root is perfect for 1-1 fights when using glamour builds. ( yes I know confusion is getting nerfed however, I believe the glamour build will still be good)

First off, NEVER pick human, they are the epitome of boring.
If having cool armor is a big thing for you, pick sylvari or norn.
The main thing you should think about is elites. the mesmer has awful pve elites.
My sylvari uses fern hound all the time in PvE and it makes things SO much easer. So I strongly suggest a race that has an elite summon.
Skill wise asura seems to be the best pick.

But sadly the asuras are small and seeing there cool gear is hard. if you choose to be the tallest asura it might just be large enough to show off your cool gear. Also, the asura cultural light armor is hands down the coolest of all the races.

So to recap;
Never pick human.
Skill Focus: Asura, Sylvari, Charr
Armor Focus: Sylvari, Norn
Weapon Focus: Sylvari, Norn, Charr
