My first post on here but I’m wondering how useful is Celestial Armor on a Mesmer? I WvW mostly. Also if it is useful and anyone has a good build for it I am always ready to try a new build. Thanks in advance.

Celestial used to work barely simply because of the bonus Critical Damage compared to Berserkers. Currently, it’s not extremely viable in WvW, and should probably not be used as a main set. It’s better to mix and match Knight’s Soldier’s Valkyrie’s Assassin’s and Berserker’s to attain your own configuration of Power Precision Ferocity Toughness Vitality.

If you’re going condition damage, just run Rabid.

If you’re going hybrid, either run Rabid or Rampager’s.

Pre patch you could run celestial with PU and have lots of fun, it was very effective. Haven’t tried it post nerf though, as I don’t really think PU is worth it anymore. All the hybrid builds I’ve seen other people run involved PU, so I’m not sure if there is still a place for it (celestial).

Celestial is very niche on Mesmer. To make it worthwhile, you need to have a build that makes use of all the stats. You might be able to pull it off in certain support-oriented builds (i.e. 2/6/0/6/0 or 0/4/0/4/6), just don’t expect to win many 1v1s like that.

Ever since they introduced ferocity celestial isn’t really any good anymore unless in maybe very very rare circumstances.
I still have mine equipped cause i barely played last half a year or so.
But i can definitely feel that my damage output dropped significantly ever since the change. I simply don’t do enough damage anymore to put pressure on the opponent.
So i wouldn’t recommend the set unless you really know what you are going for.

This makes me sad. I’m just finishing up my Wupwup set… Only need the gloves now, and this wasn’t at all encouraging. I knew that it had been nerfed, and lost popularity, but I was hoping it might still be viable.

Cele is a great stat and a good gear set.. for Guardians or Elementalists..

Mesmers can’t really afford to run it in anything Player vs Player related these days.

It’s Min/Max or limp along really..

PU benefits most from going Full condition damage, Shatter from full zerker/assassins, Refelct from assassins, and Phantasms from Zerkers…

Attempting to be mediocre at all things, this far into the game and metas, you’ll kinda just be left behind.

Yes, you can still make this armor set “work” with almost any build. People say you can eat an elephant if you just do it one bite at a time.. but some of the meta groups would prefer to just blow the elephant up and move on.. if that makes sense..

to clarify, feel free to use the gear, just don’t expect amazing results in WvW or sPvP and don’t expect to get speed runs on dungeons. If those things are super important to you, grab some different stats.

Celestial is good on classes that can solo stack might like eles, warriors and engies. Not so great for Mesmers.
