Not going to work. It just doesn’t use all the stats effectively. Supcutie has given it a lot of testing and concluded it won’t work.

LOL been Celestial since before it became a thing. It does work if it fits your playstyle and if you know how to maximize your stats for your goal. Running celestial is all about balance finding the survivabiltiy to sustain against both zerker and condition classes while being able to wear them down over the course of the fight. I’ve been very successful in Spvp, 1 v 1, 2 v x Outnumbered, and 3 man camp trollin vs outnumbered and siege. Although the build may sacrifice raw damage and or condition damage it gives you TONS in return. Your condition removal is through the roof as well as your survivability. At 23k+ hps ( max stacks / food ) and 2750+ armor you are definitely not squishy. You’ll be just shy of 2200 power and 770+ condi dmg with max stacks / food, over 200% crit damage and 55% crit chance.

In all honesty any build can be viable if you know how to min max to achieve your goal. You didn’t see running around here asking people for advice I just played with the build editor until I found something that looked like it would work on paper and tested it until I perfected it. Everyone will have their own opinions on what “works” or what’s “best / meta”. None of that really matters if you’re winning fights, you gotta be doing something right. Play the game how you want to

I stopped playing back in September when Destiny came out but slowly coming back, here’s some videos from the summer of my mesmer in action.

1 v 1- mostly against other mesmers and some other classes mainly in OS w/o stacks

Spvp – I hold my own on points while taking on multiple enemies

Duo outnumbered Roaming in WvW – I pair well with engineers and thieves or pretty much any good roaming class / build

3 man camp trollin with 2 thieves against outnumbered and siege – This shows the builds survivability

Most people can’t be bothered to go through the hassle of making a full celestial set though, hence why there’s very little talk of it in regards to WvW.

I’ve experimented with Celestial. IMO, it’s best done as a Cele Trinket/<insert other> Weapon/Armor setup. The big nastiness about going full Celestial on Mesmers comes down to two problems:

• Mesmer Might stacking is < Ele or Engi. The extra Power/Condition Damage is what makes those two Cele builds so feared, really.
• Mesmer is pretty weaksauce at Healing Power scaling. So, you’re effectively wasting a stat when you go full Cele.

I meant, you just need to play ‘like’ a PU condi/phantasm Mesmer. You just have to get phantasms/illusions up and can focus almost entirely on your own survivability as there’s no need to set up any burst, lockdowns etc, which makes it very strong for duels. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Just one of many playstyles.

Yeah for sure, our might stacking isn’t the best which is why I use battle sigils on both weapon sets and constantly swap. Out healing power sucks kitten I try to remedy this by using the signet heal and constantly keeping clones up for the regen. It’s definitely not reliable and takes some getting use to but works as long as you stay engaged in the fight.

Its not that celestial can’t kill. It’s more about what do you do when you come up against an opponent you can’t kill with celestial? What do you do when this becomes far more frequent than not?

Its like Bard the Bowman shooting at Smaug with regular arrows when really the only thing that worked was a full zerker arrow.

I hear ya it definitely took lots of testing and fails to figure out the right balance for Mesmer. Now I win most of my fights and when I loose it’s usually due to outnumbered or getting rolled by zergs.
