Hey everyone,
don’t you also think that the Trait Chaotic Interruption is a bit to weak to be a grandmaster trait?
What does it give us?
I don’t get why this trait is in the grandmaster slot. Could anyone please explain why?
iLeap is a 2s imob. Does Chaotic Interruption have an internal cooldown? If no we have the ability to generate a fair amount of AoE interupt/imob/chill-cripple-blind along with our various single target means. That’s a hell of a lot of lockdown, and in team play would decimate targets/groups.
I made/ran a 100% condi duration build for a while and my iLeap was death for people. 4seconds of inactivity (no dodge rolls). Cripple while immobilized is stupid though. But it would sit on the bar to eat condi clears.
I threw this togeather for kittenz and giggles.

Now you have a 4s immobilize, 4s chill, 6s cripple, 6s blind

I dont think CI is weak. Its as good as BI. The problem is its Grandmaster and it has to compete with the combo PU+BI which has such a good synergy. Anet should consider moving CI into Master tier. Then you could run something like 30/20/20/0/0 basically the opposite of a PU build being more offensive/control oriented.
@Ross.Biddle i like that build but i think not having 20 in Dueling when using a pistol hurts a lot. You lose alot on Bleeds and Confusion stacks.
The only problem with it is cripple with immbolize, it makes zero sense. The chill and blind are fantastic though.
It does kinda feel awkward. The thing about interrupting in gw2 is that you have to use a cc in order for the interrupt to occur, which means the target is likely going to be stunned or dazed for a couple seconds already. The immobilize is good against stun breaks, but the rest of it just doesn’t really matter. I’d rather it gives some bleed/burn/vuln, to make condi based interrupt builds better.

My first instinct was sword/sword. With sword cooldown and offhand sword daze you can get the same effect. And if you fired it into a cluster of players you’re going to hit multiple opponents. But yeah, the build isnt necessarily amazing. Just amazing at what it can do.
CI, taken with specific weapons and other traits, can be one of our most powerful traits.
For example, taking only weapon/utility abilities into account:
Taking our other cc traits into account, you can get some nice utility:
It’s actually surprisingly good, I’ve been playing a 20/20/30 halting strike/BI/CI build in sPvP the past few days, and it’s pretty nice to be able to push someone off a point with iWave and have them get immobilized outside. The cripple/chill/blind is a bonus, and a good cover for the immob. Follow up with iLeap, magic bullet, offhand sword daze, MoD / signet of dom, whatever else to keep them off the point.
Tried during inc in WvW. Enemy will be blocked under our alliance burst.
I use Focus and Greatsword for AoE interrupt.
