I want to make a Mesmer, but I’m not sure if I should go Charr or Human.

I hear Charr have a lot of issues with armor skins, especially light, is this true?

What are your opinions?

Before official launch, there was a survey to see what characters people wanted to play. Might’ve been on Guru. Don’t remember. Anyways, the least common response was female charr mesmer.

Go Charr, Human Mesmer is too popular. This might be more of a Necromancer look, but my Mesmer will soon look like this badass:

Even tho there are some issues with Charr armor, you can still create cool looking mixes. I’d suggest going to the PvP Locker in the Mists to mix and match some items on both characters.

I laugh each time I see charr mesmer. Ugly, clumsy animations, 99.9% of armor looks bad.
Make asura.

Asura. From a strategy stand point it’s a smarter choice. The animations are harder to see. Plus, they’re going to rule the world!!

Charr Mesmers just feel so… wrong. On the other side, you don’t see that many Charr Mesmers so if you really want to create an unique character, go for it.
As for armors, Human is probably the better choice.

Generally speaking, Asura (for the bigger mindkitten in PvP) or Sylvari (for the aesthetics) are the best choice for Mesmers in my opinion. I would never ever change my Sylvari Mesmer to another race <3
