Ok guys…..
Rolled a Chrono as our guild is really failing in the tanking department with our Guardian, he just isn’t getting it. That and our dps needs help, but that’s a different issue.
Anyways, with tanking as Chrono, on VG, do I still have to dodge the teleports or can I use S2 and evade? Now, 54yrs young here so my reflexes aren’t the greatest but I do have many years “tanking” experience with WOW and SWTOR. Granted, tanking in this game is NOTHING like it is in those, but I still kinda get the gest of it.
Just wish there was a way to practice with the teleports other than pugging as I don’t want others to suffer through my learning and failing and such.
So, any helpful tips you all can give in regards to being a decent Chrono tank and NOT teleporting all over would be great help. Boss mechanics to watch for, etc. I am open to anything……even throwing it in and saying f*it…lol!!
Thanks all!

Take persistence of memory and shatter regularly to massively drop your shield block cooldowns for all bosses.

VG: shield 4, sw2, or dodge all will avoid the teleport attack. If in phase 1, you can dodge backwards into the wall without moving. If on the mobile phases, dodging doesn’t really screw things up, so you can dodge there too. Sh4 and sw2 also will avoid the damage pulses from the arena and from the seekers, so you can use those to miitgate damage in the split phases when you’re pulling multiple bosses together.

Try to chain your mitigation skills to avoid damage from his autos. Block, block (shatter), sw2, dodge, block block, etc. Rotating like this keeps you healthy and lowers the strain on your druid. I also take restorative illusions to help keep myself topped off as I’m shattering.

Just in case you’re not familiar with the basics, here is the build you should be using: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vhAQNAs+dncfClfi9fCGoBUrhFljqORn0KFtyShM7MAWgID-TxRBABUq+De6FMTJYXKDuSp3/7PAwDAgUARMMC-e

Note that everything is zerk except for the amulet which is cavs. This gives you enough toughness to hold aggro as long as everyone else is wearing 0 toughness gear. If you’ve got a warrior, you should toss on a couple more pieces of cavs jewelry to compensate for their toughness stim when ressing, otherwise you’ll have bad news aggro jumps when someone gets downed. You’re also using chrono runes, so make sure you don’t forget to use your signet of inspiration in your combos.

THANKS HEAPS FAY!! Now that’s a reply! Perfect info and very useful. Thanks again for that, will help a lot. Knowing what to do is half the battle, now just to practice it all.

Oh, and just to ask, while I know as tank and Chrono its not a big deal but how is your dps with this build and such?

Meh. When I’ve bothered running the meter I usually clock around 4k-6k, aka kitten-tier. You’re there to keep the eles happy and pumping out the deeps, but don’t expect great things from yourself.

Edit: Just as a point of reference if you want, my raid team is myself (chrono), engie, rev x3, power tempest x2, condie tempest, druid, condie zerker/necro. We’ve got enough dps to easily clear gorse if we don’t screw up, so you don’t need a picture perfect composition to get through these raids.
