Hey, I’m looking for a solid WvW build that’s power-shatter and includes chrono. http://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Mesmer_-_Burst_Shatter is the one that’s on metabattle, but it doesn’t include chrono and I’d rather use sword/shield than sword/torch.

Is the build on metabattle better than if you had chrono? If not, what build would be best?

The WvW power shatter builds that seem to be the most effective atm use Defender Runes + Mantras. Defender runes + heal mantra gives mesmers yet another safe-stomp mechanic, counterplay against certain class skills, and great sustain.

I don’t find shatter to be that great in WvW because of ascended stats and food/utility plus the amount of AoEs that pop the illusions. The amount of HP / armor a person has in WvW is more than in PvP so if you use Empowered Illusions, a Phantasmal Berserker + Mind Wrack follow up is only 11K or so unless it is an exceptionally glassy person.

Mind Wrack ~5K damage vs 2600 armor ; ~ 6K vs the standard 2200 armor ; ~7.6K if you run Mental Anguish (so +1.6K damage)

I think instead you want to play off Gravity Well as much as possible since if you run Power Block it’s another 1K or so damage, plus vulnerability from the interrupt. Without the Chaos line, mass invis and decoy aren’t as strong.

Chrono: Time Catches up , Illusionary Reversion , Seize the Moment
Domination: Empowered Illusions , Shattered Concentration, Mental Anguish (or Power Block)
Dueling (for clone generation & fury): Desperate Decoy , Blinding Dissipation, Deceptive Evasion

Wow, that build looks really solid! I like it. A Mesmer was using a build against me on my thief in WvW that was able to 100-30 me very quickly and I do believe they were using mantras of some sort as when they would burst me, there would be a graphic below me.

I’d love to try this build out. Could I use zerker trunks or a mix of valk/zerk with similar results? Also, what’s stronger in WvW overall, Mez or Rev?

I personally use Commander’s armor + Berserker trinkets/weapon. There’s probably going to be some people that will question my choice of Commander’s (power/precision/toughness/BoonDuration) armor (and its pretty expensive too.)

I would start off with Marauder’s armor, Cavalier amulet, and Berserker’s rings/accesories/weapon. You can buy the Marauder’s insignia recipe for karma from a normal crafting vendor.

You can buy the Marauder’s insignia recipe for karma from a normal crafting vendor; it is craftable like other traditional exotic stats (or you can use the insignia to stat-swap ascended pieces you may have).
