Anyone got any for me? Never played a bunker build but im getting tired of getting melted by condis.I Dont really know how The staff should be used. Is there a rotation or anything?

Are you using the Bunker Alacrity one?
I assume you’re pvp?

You’re job is basically three things:

• Give your teammates that alacrity/quickness
• Survive.
• stall enemies

A good bunker mesmer build can win 1v1 and even 1v2 and it can even stall 3 people for a while.
Your staff is a CC weapons generating Chaos shield.
You can either use the skill Chaos shield (last resort) or phase retreat in:

• Chaos Storm
• NullField
• Wells

• Your AAttack is a nice range one, that applies boons and conditions with rebound (make it rebound)
• Phase retreat is a short range blink (instant but not stun break) that will ALWAYS go in the opposite direction of your target and/or backward.
  There are nifty tricks with that skill to get on ledge, bridges or rooftop, etc. LEARN THEM. (Youtube is your friend for that) They ARE mandatory and will really help your kiting.
• Phantasmal Warlock is nice… when it hits. The damage can get really high if they are a good number of conditions on your enemy (yes, the damage of that phantasm scales with unique conditions on enemy) You also want to use it for boon share
• Chaos Armor To use in between your phase retreat and Field CD: You want chaos armor up as often as possible because it reduces your staff’s CD
• Chaos Storm: Interrupts and daze people once per pulse (it pulses 5 times, so it can interrupt up to five times), grants boons and conditions. Incredible one.

There isn’t a mandatory rotation, just keep in mind to use phase retreat in an ethereal field and keep your chaos shield up as often as possible when you’re on your staff.
Practice your phase retreats

If you’re bunker alacrity, I’ll give you other tips too with the wells and such.

Use your wells pretty much off cooldown after you spam them during your first continuum split. Don’t think about using your shatters for offense, spam them for heals and condi clear and to spit out boons to your teammates! You can run chronomancer runes or durability runes, but durability runes make you artifically more tanky through boon duration! Also be sure to block or evade whenever you feel any form of offensive pressure!

As you can surely tell, bunker chronomancer is a highly skill intensive build that requires mere seconds of smashing your face on the keyboard before achieving total mastery of this new revered role in pvp society. Good luck!

What is this phase retreat in Chaos shield sorcery you speak of sir!

I felt like i had no situational awareness of when i should use S/Sh or Staff

Taking a better look i def should summon my warlock Phant after i get the condi’s from Staff 4# and 5# up right?

I just dont see how im supposed to 1v2 hell i was doing negative dmg so my 1vs1s were horrible.

Shatters! Which ones are the most important. I knew as power f1 was used for dmg. f2 i hardly used… f3 was The daze/cc/interrupt f4 was avoiding burst. But with the buffs involved and different traits i dont know how to use them outside healing nor do i know which buff i should try to get out first.

As the skillful bunker mes, use any shatter whenever you want however you want since the condi cleanse and boons aren’t affected by illusions you have up, only heal and quickness. Basically just spam them to stay alive and support your teammates.

Also be sure to get screened for brain cancer should you play this build for more than an hour or two per day.

You know whats funny ive been playing it most of the morning… I hate to say it This kitten is kinda boring. I miss my power mesmer….now im considering trying alts… Reaper/Tempest D/F/Scrapper…Who knows maybe Ranked wont be so bad as power mesmer.

Yeah its such a strong build but kitten its boring, I feel like I’m not doing much of anything when I’m not killing things…even though my winrate has been much higher playing bunker over standard power mes cause I can hold points all game, distract like 2-3 ppl at a time and I’m not dying to incidental AoE condi’s etc. when I actually engage in team fights. The roaming role is not nearly as important in the current meta IMO, it seems like sustaining on points is gonna be how matches are decided now…

So yeah…its boring.
