“Mentoring engineers / mesmers and showing you what you can do with your fantastic class!
Just pm me for my advice! Always eager to help!”
Just think about it – it’s self explaining. If SoI grants a fixed value if you have any Quickness at all, you won’t be needing Chrono Runes anymore.
My suggestion is to make them aoe – the 6th bonus grants you and 4 of your allies 2s Quickness. That way it works like a built in SoI and would not make them obsolete and due to the SoI nerf not op either. They would simply stay the same.
After all we are unable to fully use Scholar as an alternative either, due to our phantasmal friends …
Yeah, chrono runes are total garbage now. You’ll probably want either a boon duration set (for raiding) or pack runes (for personal play).
Yeah aoe quickness is the only way they remain viable. Especially since the rune of durability are aoe boons and those are the real wvw problem, it doesn’t seem fair to be 1 second single target. Two classes that can use wells probably have no use for it soon.
I really hope they don’t forget about the runes. It would be sad to become another Scholar user … or may Surging x5 +1 platinum doubloon? Everything seems horrible compared to a rune that grants 2 great stats like Chrono right now :/
We won’t know until the patch but I’m thinking leadership will be the way to go.
I’m thinking use commanders to get to 40% duration, 30% from food and 30% from runes. This way you don’t require a rev.
In addition, without chronomancer runes you will likely only take one well, well of action.
Utilities could be: Signet of Ether, SoI, Mimic, Well of Action, TW.
Mimic inside CS to get 3 SOI inside if you have the trait SOI off cooldown.
With 100% without the sigil of concentration, you could open fights in sw/shield instead of weapons swapping into shield. This could allow you to have 3 shields up right away.
Again we won’t know until Tuesday but this is a possibility.
I’ll be using durability runes, but that’s primarily because I’m lazy and want to use the same set of gear for PvE raids and WvW raids. Leadership are probably better.
But then you would be unintentionally buffing necros, and they cant have that. /s
Jokes aside (or not), that would do wonders for the Condi Necro meta we have in fractals. Now they will have quickness and transcend beyond need of any other class.

Wouldn’t you also use 33% from the sigil? As in, axe the commander down?
And Well… hrm… I still like Well of Eternity for the extra healing and cleansing, in raid situations. Granted for damage a signet is better, but I guess it depends on the fight. Finally got to play a healer in a raid yesterday and noticed just how low healing requirements usually are >.<

Yes you totally could. This was just pure speculation based on the patch comments. Personally if i was going to use the signet heal to spawn avengers quickly, I wouldn’t want to rely on weapon swap to max boon duration. Just an option, but again today we’ll see what actually happens
PvE Mesmer is dead with the patch. It’s worse than I ever imagined.
Edit – Nevermind… changes aren’t that bad after playing them in game. Also Blurred Frenzy hits like a truck now.

I’m happy about the blurred frenzy. Mostly played power GS, and rarely pulled out my swords unless I went on defensive.
Yeah, I’m pretty sure I’ll be dropping my GS for Sw/F for the pull into a BF cleave.
It’s a ridiculously flimsy band-aid, though, rather than the comprehensive change that’s actually needed.
They do listen to reddit a lot. On general its why we have so many wings in gem store and on a more recent note, we saw the DR nerf removed in labyrinth in short notice. They just don’t listen everything, and for good reason.
I doubt that those 175 power outweigth 36 power, precision and ferocity aswell 11% boon duration wich ware worth 165 concentration.
I tested surging + doubloon, but dps difference is so tiny, I’d rather have a safer quickness uptime for my allies.
I’m just praying that the next Living World map adds a new stat combo for gear that has Boon Duration, but no toughness, and decent Rune with some Boon Duration

Exotic berserker trinkets with Doubloons you mean?
He means divinier pvp set. Would be supercool actually.

Diviners & seekers would both be great to have tbh.
What stats do those give you?
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Diviner's_Amulet
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Seeker's_Amulet
power/concentration/prec/fero
power/prec/fero/concentration
I’d love to see both stats, along with:
power/healing power/prec/fero
power/healing power/prec/concentration
Let’s talk about Diviner stats:
An ascended Diviner amulet would have:
133 Power, 133 Concentration, 71 Precision, 71 Ferocity = Total 408 stats.
If you now use an exotic Berserker amulet with a Platinum Doubloon:
120 Power, 60 Concentraion, 85 Precision, 85 Ferocity = Total 350 stats.
An ascended Diviner ring would have:
106 Power, 106 Concentration, 56 Precision, 56 Ferocity = Total 324 stats.
If you now use an exotic Berserker ring with a Platinum Doubloon:
90 Power, 60 Concentraion, 64 Precision, 64 Ferocity = Total 278 stats.
An ascended Diviner accessory would have:
92 Power, 92 Concentration, 49 Precision, 49 Ferocity = Total 282 stats.
If you now use an exotic Berserker accessory with a Platinum Doubloon:
75 Power, 60 Concentraion, 53 Precision, 53 Ferocity = Total 241 stats.
An ascended Diviner back would have:
52 Power, 52 Concentration, 27 Precision, 27 Ferocity = Total 158 stats.
If you now use an exotic Berserker back with a Platinum Doubloon:
30 Power, 60 Concentraion, 21 Precision, 21 Ferocity = Total 132 stats.
So except for the back item, those stats would be very beneficial for a Chronomancer. I had some doubts, but it seems to be better than the exo-Platinum-Doubloon variant.
