Guild Wars 2

So i’ve been into the PVP scene lately and i’ve been having lots of fun cuzz in my opinion it’s fairly balanced. Although i have my doubts with chronomancers. I’m am by far a pro pvp player and i do not play mesmer myself but from what i’ve seen they can bulldozer over almost any player. Now i’ve read that they’re quite susceptible to condition builds (but making a class only weak to one sort of build is not the way to do it). I can’t back this up by any proof though.

Keep in mind, i’m not calling ANY class here OP. I would just like to get some more opinions and information.

By “bulldoze”, I will assume you are talking about shatter burst mesmer.

While it’s true that a full burst can insta-down some classes and get others low, it’s just not going to happen against any decent player that a) sees it coming, b) can sustain it, and/or c) outsmarts you.

Shatter burst mesmers are at a disadvantage in many 1v1s & even-numbered fights. Their primary role is +1’ing fights with some element of surprise, and it’s where a decent player can shine. Played well, it is supposed to be able to turn the fight quickly by bursting somebody who’s already in some trouble. So, maybe that’s why you think mesmers can bulldoze others?

I’m an experienced Mesmer player. If anyone is having trouble defeating Mesmer/Chrono it’s simply a matter of learning to play against them. Whether it’s a stealthing, power shatter mes, condi mes, or bunker Mes, I can defeat them on my chrono, zerker berserker, and carrion p/p daredevil in PvP (these three are just what I’m playing).

Learning to fight them is indeed key. Especially if you’re new to the scene.
I’ve always recommended people to play the class they may or may not struggle with in order to learn how to fight against them, so I’ll tell you to do the same :P
Just hop onto metabattle and start playing with the builds.

Mesmers/Chrono’s may seem strong right now because they got the ability to either sustain loads, or to end a fight in seconds with a well set up shatter.

You are right in the fact that mesmers are susceptible to Condi builds though. Even the sustainable Bunker Chrono has to rely on his shatters to cleanse conditions and to make the most of it they need to take good care of their illusions/clones/phantasms which can be countered easily with almost any AoE and they can be pressured easily like that.
