…or what if one steps a little aside from the suggested gear.
Hey guys, after gearing my necro, guard, warrior and thief, my lil chrono-girl is about to be one of the next character’s I’m going to get some propper gear for.
To make this clear at start- I’m talking about PvE only and my focus is instanced group content (mostly fractals and some dungeons with some raiding on top). I like an efficient playstyle and thus I usually take meta builds as a starting point and make as little adjustments as possible to fit my playstyle (e. g. using a focus as a DH instead of torch or things like that).
After playing around with the build editor, I was left with two possible gear choices.
A) the pretty common meta-like version (zerker gear with runes of leadership, http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vhAQRAsc8encfClfi1fCGoBEgiFVjqOZn2qlMAGhi7MIWipD-ThBXABhofo09H49JA0j6PAo87BlgkCAwpWA-e)
B) quite the other way round (leadership gear with runes of the chronomancer, http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?vhAQRAsc8encfClfi1fCGoBEgiFVj6MIWiprOZn2qlMAGhiD-ThRfABAofYznAwnK/Oc/BWVC+o6PBAOA46ApAAcqF-e)
Difference between A) to would be almost equal Power, 10% crit chance on, 50% more ferocity on A), almost 500 more Thoughness on
Now I was wondering- since my dps will be potato-like anyway and I’m in no way a mesmer expert, would it make sense to run choice for the extra thoughness and extra quickness when casting wells and thus giving more room for error when trying to execute a perma-quickness rotation? Or do I overlook something?
Oh and I’m fully aware of the consequences of running 1500 toughness on some raid encounters, so that put aside- is there still a clear winner or would be a perfectly fine alternative to the common meta choice?
Glad to get some advice, cheers!

You only need one sword with the Concentration sigil. Put the sword in your main-hand and leave the main-hand slot in the other weapon set empty. When you switch, you’ll keep the sword, but will trigger the sigil effect.
Generally, if one doesn’t want to do the zerker + commander legs meta, going full minstrels is usually considered the optimal way of tanking and carrying.

I’m aware of the “one mainhand sword only” thing, just didn’t put that way in the calculator, but thx anyway, others might not know this already
Anyway…
Chrono runes are self-only quickness, completely worthless.
Kitten, didn’t know about that, thought everyone in the well would get the quickness. Yet, this answers my question 100%, thanks!
