Clones should shatter on death
Doesnt sound OP to me, it would just help us in big zerg fights, maybe.
I dont nearly do enough zerging, so Im not sure about that one :P
In a 1v1 situation it wouldnt change much, who would couter a shatter by killing the clones aa they are running to you, anyway :P

would be a good trait imo
“Mentoring engineers / mesmers and showing you what you can do with your fantastic class!
Just pm me for my advice! Always eager to help!”
Default no. This would be cool as a trait tho~
“Maybe I was the illusion all along!”
Well, it would make on-death-traits redundant and make on-shatter-traits a lot stronger.
Nah depends on the tree and the context.
If it’s in a hard to reach tree shatter wouldn’t bother anyways.
If reachable shatter has to give something up it’d be a debatable side grade, say it’s in master illusions. A mesmer with staff might consider an extra bounce worth it, since it’s perma might and vigor. Or even recharge at thresh should, sometimes that’s more decisive for ending fights. However a trait like this can be clearly better vs AoE.
Plus it wouldn’t render on death worthless, it’d make it stronger. If every clone mind wracks on death, imagine going cripple and10% MW Dmg on death with vit and power gear (so clones stay super squish) could even make it a mid inspiration tree trait heal on shatters thrown into the synergy. Lol we can get our own tanky DPS minuses build that isn’t phant. (HORAY FOR POWER CREEP!)
It’d also make sceptre replace more powerful ;D
I think it has plenty of advantages that don’t just benefit shatter.
“Maybe I was the illusion all along!”
Way too good if it should work that way by default. Sounds like an interesting trait for me though.
I would try it in WvW. Might be a little too strong combined with other shatter traits against AoE (which is mainly zerging) but it’s definitely an interesting idea. Maybe slightly reduce the damage to balance it.
I think either some of you, or I understood the OP wrong.
As far as I can tell, the OP meanss:
- Say you send your clones to shatter on X target.
- On the way the target, they get killed.
- The point at which they get killed, they explode and do their shatter dmg.
And I think some of you think that killed clones always shatter in a mind wrack, which isnt what the OP suggested at all.
The illusion will only shatter when it has already been given the shatter command, and not when it just dies while minding it’s own bussiness.
Knowing that, it will be completely useless as a trait and it will never be worth taking.
And I may be completely wrong here, because its 1am and cant type/write/think/read properly x.x
