Clones zero damage
You’re too low level. Clones aren’t made for damages, so they will never do a lot of damages. You might want to consider “illusions inflict bleed on crits” in Dueling, 15 points.
Technically it’s not zero, but a number really close to zero (due to rounding you see "0"’s showing up on your screen).
This number will increase as you level up, but yes clones never really dish out much damage. Usually that is just reserved for your phantasms. Some mesmers will trait into sharper images which will let all of your illusions (including clones) stack bleeds on your enemy, increasing their DPS.
My clones crit for 15.

The Staff # 2 clones also stack conditions so they do dmg in a way.

Clones are used to distract enemies and take damage that would otherwise hit you. As mentioned, they can be traited to do damage later, and at lvl 65 I can actually kill single mobs with just a few clones (not quickly, but not that bad, either).
However, the majority of damage will usually be coming from you, followed by your phantasms (or the other way around, depending on your weapon and build), with the clones far behind either — though their condition-stacking, shatters and AoE damage on dissipation can be appreciable with the right traits.

Phantasms = DPS is fine by me but they take too long to attack. Seriously, 5 – 14 seconds depending on the phantasm? Hell anything that takes more than 4 seconds is already a long time to perform an attack!
If you’re standing around waiting for your phantasms to attack, there are probably better ways to spend that time.
Considering you can have three of them out at all times during longer fights, and that you are also capable of doing respectable damage with a good weapon choice, it’s amazing they do as much damage as they do.
So yes, they have a fairly long cooldown between attacks, but stacked on top of everything else such as clone bombing and (my personal favorite) wading through crowds of mobs cutting a swath of ruin with my swords, Mesmers can really rock the house.

“Meatshields” – Not really when they die to auto attacks in PvP, dies to lower level enemies in 1 hit in PvE doesnt really make for decent “meatshields”
Personally i think they should completely remove Phantoms and move all the damage they do to the Mesmer and Clones, its so annoying that i could just summon 2/3 Phantoms and stand there doing nothing and watch as the target gets killed
Of course, this changes based on situation – in Dungeons i have managed to get a full set of Dualists out doing about 1-5k damage per a set of bullets EACH

I think we can all agree aegis is awesome. It completely blocks one attack. Even if your clones die in one hit to trash mobs, they accomplish the same thing. Every hit they take is one you and your team don’t. And they essentially have no cool down, depending on your build, you should be able to pump them out as fast as your enemy can pop them. Clones are very effective at distracting attention away from you as you kill your opponent.

Don’t underestimate 1 hit less received. It can make a whole bunch of difference, unless you’re next to your clone and both get aoe’d…
@ Qelris Maybe but most people in PvP tend not to use any ability other then Auto attacks until they know its the mesmer. Iw ould just be nice if they didnt die so easily – i mean Auto Attacks do what 1-3k damage for most classes unless you are in really bad shape that damage isnt going to kill you or put you in down state
EDIT: Then you also gotta take into account the SoI ability that doesnt even become active until several seconds after spawning so even if the person is weak they will still kill them with auto attacks even AoE splash damage and dots, ect
