CoF p1 farming question
Using staff and staff clones helps a lot during the bigger fights (slaver, end boss, etc), especially with triple bounce, because you are buffing the kitten out of those warriors while putting conditions on the mobs. Coupled with time warp it really stacks up.
I also run with GS, and the clones stack bleeds nicely. Maybe try using a sharpening stone or tuning crystal? I also run with skale venom which stack vulnerability. GS also helps with killing the acolytes from a safe distance, which helps avoid a downed/res pile-up, and can knock back when mobbed by mobs. .
Do you run with illusionary persona? F4 in a pinch has saved me countless times…
With 3 war and 2 mes, my group has a 6 minute record!

Hey – I’m a warrior. I stumbled across this post by chance!
My knowledge of endgame is very limited – I know, however, that as a warrior, I need to be working on Citadel of Flame. Or at least, so I’ve been told.
This is the first I have heard of serious group composition, so, I am here representing the warrior. What’s the goal here, and what am I aiming to do in order ot be useful for my group?
Is there anything I -should- be doing in order to make sure i’m not just dragging my group down?

Increase your damage output. Focus on doing the most damage you can the fastest you can to survive.
For the last boss, if you go down, simply break a crystal, since it’s faster than reviving.
For a Mesmer, try running shatter builds to allow you to deal massive amounts of damage.
I personally run a shatter build and it helps me increase my damage output by a huge amount without opening myself up to damage. I’m able to mitigate all the damage from boss-fights and rarely go down during the final boss and Slaver.
Understanding the bosses attacks helps a ton because I can evade his attacks with rolls, distortion, and evasion (blurred frenzy). The shatter build helps mitigate damage because it revolves around rolling and making clones which act as damage targets.
Ty for the replies!
Yes I have the Illusory Persona trait and it does help. Gonna familiarize boss attacks too to help (esp during the last boss where I get downed quite a few if it takes long to kill). I’m considering going greatsword/staff for the run but I have yet to get a greatsword
I personally don’t find GS useful on this particular run since you’re almost always in melee range. Sword2 helps mitigate a TON of damage, especially on the door and engineer parts since you get free hits in while being invulnerable.
For the boss fight, I tend to go full shattercat, meaning I don’t stay away from the boss unless I’m low health and disengaging for a heal. (Yes, I stay near him when he does his fiery explosion.)
If I ever get hit by anything and go on fire, I’m wearing Generosity sigils, meaning I simply put the fire onto the boss within a second. After that, I only really leave the immediate area of the boss to heal myself if I’m super low and my heal is on cooldown (for some random reason, it rarely happens, but when it does, you need to prepare to run).
A few good ways to disengage for that is to simply Staff2 or Blink away.
tldr; If you’re P1 farming, GS is fine, but I personally don’t find it nukey enough, which is why I tend to run Sword. Additionally, GS doesn’t give you survivability.
I would love to know how managed to stuff 6 people into a 5 man dungeon.
I take in my usual toughness shatter confusion build, never go down, never have any slowdown or problems, in fact I’m surprised to hear about your deaths. Although it made sense when you said “Zerker”.

Dude, you’re on the Mesmer forums: Clones.
Ask some of the warrior to use For great justice at the start of the fight(especially the first one) and use that signet that shares your boons with everyone, then lay down your timewrap. The warriors will easily reach 25might during the entire fight, and the boss will cry.
Use portal before the door opens, and with swiftness+blink you can cross that room before the rolling balls of fiery death start rolling around. Doing that properly will save your team a whole lot of time.
After that, you don’t have to kill the spawing mobs on the totems rooms. Using focus #4, GS#5, sword #2, Shatter F4 and decoy you can help you and the guy in the nearest totem avoid a bunch of damage, which is nice when you’re running full bersekers.
So CoF p1 farm speed runs now require 2 mesmers and 4 warriors. .
No one caught this at all :I
