So, just wondering what everyone is doing with their commanders gear

What commander gear? Ok I own one just for the case I had to use it, but I didn’t really use it anyway. I’m glad it’s officially bad now. I wish they would give us a better option for concentration though …

I’d actually pay to have diviner/seeker stats enter PvE/WvW. True utopia where everyone is happy.

Or at least they ought to add Concentration and Expertise to Celestial I suppose.

Unless you had no Rev and were solomancer pre patch, you didn’t either. And now that you have 30% boon duration from Leadership, 4% from your back (exo + Doubloon), 30% from food and 33% from your sigil, you end up at 97% wich is perfectly fine.

You could use Commander leggins, that results into 1s more quickness per rotation but isn’t required if you won’t majorly mess up. Those commander leggins then reduce your dps by 200. So both variants have only tiny adventages, I prefer full zerker here.

I wish they would give us +5 concentration infusions or an amulet enrichment variant, it would be another way to add +6% to boon duration.

Well thank you for your input on the commanders leggins. It just seems strange to me to see the fast variation in comments. Like those who still using the commander/zerker mix. It was always known that the better mesmer were using few commanders like just back piece or the the like to reach higher toughness. But in the world of pug where players were able to use commanders and have a much easier time of being useful was my experience. I suppose the other pieces will sit in my bank and ill switch to leadership and see if my chrono runes will ever be useful again.

Alternatively, if you want to keep your backpiece ascended (for Fractals, I imagine) you can go full berserker on everything except for 1 comm ring and 1 accessory, or you can do all berserker with 1 comm shoulder/glove/boot, 1 backpiece, and 1 ring. That puts you right at 67% with Leadership and noms. The DPS difference was very close with that gear set up vs with the comm legs and Platinum backpiece.

Slightly tangential, what would be a good rune replacement.

In my current situation I’ve decided to make a new set just for the Berserker+leader combo that was introduced to accommodate the last patch (with my own flair). I choose this simply because I didn’t want to transmute my Comm gear in the case that another patch brought it back into the meta (crossing fingers, I know).

So for now, I guess Comm is officially my “defensive set”. That, and I’ll more than likely keep that gear set for fractals since I already got all my infusions in that gear. My question is, knowing that this will be a separate set what would the best rune for be that it’s going to be used practically for Fractals? Scholars?

Same here, i kept my commander gear just in case. I still use it when tanking along with runes of herald for that 100%.

Well full Zerker with Leadership :o You can extract the infusions for a few silver each, there’s a fotm vendor selling you extractors.

If you want another useful set, you can go with Scholar for when you got a Rev.

I went “filthy casual” on the berserker set and only made exotics for the time being since I don’t play Chrono in raids that often. E.G. I don’t want to open my asc boxes for something I may not actually make frequent use of. If it turns out I’m playing chrono more often then I’ll bump the zerker set to Ascended quality.

I was leaning towards Scholar to help recover some of the DPS that is naturally lost from going with Commander’s stat distribution. Durability looks like an appropriate defensive rune, but the +20% boon duration made me headdesk because I’d need to redo my gear selection to compensate for that.

Effectively, what I’d like is a rune that applies a boon (or group of boons) since I’ll still be at +100% boon duration > Offensive stats > Does not have additional boon duration.
