I am ok with nerfing confusion but I think there needs to be a bit of compromise if your going to nerf it this much. Heres some food for thought, some of us don’t have the gold or karma to outright change our gear because our spec was nerfed and not viable anymore. This isn’t sPvP where we can swap out stats without any cost to ourselves or others. So why not compromise with those that like playing a condition mesmer by actually changing the Staff 1 and Scepter 1 skills. For example

Staff: Take away the vulnerability it stacks and exchange it with poison or more reliable bleeds. Vulnerability does not help the condition build which the staff tends to gravitate too.

Scepter: Since scepter has been pretty much a niche weapon for confusion builds(which are getting a big hit) why not change the 1 skill to do something other then create clones(which it does poorly anyway). Why not give back the scepter it’s beta ability to stack confusion again, with the 50% nerf to the condition it shouldn’t be that deadly anymore. Or if you feel it would still be OP let it stack bleeds like the trident with the clones.

These are just very few things I can think of off the top of my head. Just remember ANet everytime you nerf something this hard the players need to grind gold, laurels, karma, commendations, etc just to get new gear to become viable again. In a game where the philosophy is not to grind changes like this really hurt the causal player

If scepter attack speed was increased, then that alone would make the scepter somewhat viable. As it stands now (and this is coming from someone who uses scepter) it is a below average weapon. But while I can use it efficiently, that doesn’t mean it can go without any improvements.

And confusing images should either get an increase in damage while taking away the confusion aspect, or an increase in the confusion stacks. I say that because the confusion from the skill doesn’t make that much of a difference even in PVE/WVW right now. And I don’t even want to mention the lackluster effect it has in PVP
