Not really. 1 removal per second is an incredibly high rate, and the 75% threshold means both that it’s a lot harder to push them out, and a lot easier for them to pop back in with some burst healing. Maybe if the DS is the only condie removal they have, but with even just 1 other removal on their bar they can easily sustain through a condie burst and ignore sustained condition application.
For a test, just go to a golem and see how many condies you’re applying per second. It’s…not that high. You can burst them up, but the sustained rate is quite low.
Edit: Also, with the new necro buffs necros will be all over the place. It’s already dangerous to fight a necro as a condie mesmer, and it’ll be suicide after these changes.
I’ve been running viper for awhile and that’s been a decent counter to DS due to the power damage. With the change it will be a bit more difficult because of our lack of wide condi spread and them cleansing so quickly. Will remain to be seen.
dont forget the chaos armor nerf to blind (confusion)
so less proc of stacking confusion
condi mesmer will get nice amulet (power,condi, vit, armor) so more sustain
but will be still useless versus ds ele with 75% hp threshold.
we just cant burst fast enough constantly and maybe will see more pu condi mesmer (more 1v1 build) as illusions will proc every sec our condi but it will take too long
and below 75% hp the ele will have enough time to use his healing and get recharge
so…. we will hear qq still probably
