“Mentoring engineers / mesmers and showing you what you can do with your fantastic class!
Just pm me for my advice! Always eager to help!”
Currently the DpS Condi Mesmer uses Signet of Inspiration to share Fury to the phantasms to achieve max dps (yes this is easily possible even in raid situations, don’t argue about that in this thread).
However, once SoI get’s changed to have a fixed duration of, let’s assume 10s>, we won’t be able to sustain perma Fury on our iDuellists anymore wich is a rather big dps loss.
For the sake of build diversity and common sense in general I suggest to move Duelist’s Discipline to tier 2, so it can be combined with the highly wanted trait Phantasmal Fury.
That’s all. Please ANet do not forget about niche builds. We could really need some love, since I highly doubt the “damage increase for compensation” will affect condi builds.
I agree. The build is practically designed to make the iDuelist apply as much bleeding as possible, and to not allow Duelist’s Discipline to be used at the same time as Phantasmal Fury harms the build. I don’t know about having two weapon traits in the same tier though. Fencer’s Finesse is a crit based trait so it can’t leave Dueling without being changed. So how could FF be dealt with while still moving DD to a master spot? FF isn’t a condi trait so it wouldn’t actually conflict in that area, but Dueling is also a hybrid line, so removing the ability to use FF I think would also harm the build. Some careful rearranging would need to be done to make a tier 2 DD work.
You’re right about that too….
The easiest solution would be to simply remove Phantasmal Fury and make phantasms inherit your crit chance rather than your precision u.u

Seriously though … don’t they SEE the problem? I start doubting their competencies. :S

Better yet, replace master fencer with this. Then move master fencer to where phantasmal fury used to be.
Or if the nerf is bad enough, just make it always buff your phantoms instead of ppl

Honestly that effect should be baseline for mesmers though. We shouldn’t have to trait for our illusions to get the same boons we do, and with how relatively useless they can be a lot of the time, it also doesn’t make sense that we would have to devote 3 or 4 traits to give them what they need (prot, fury, retal).
Fortifying bond should be baseline just as phantasms benefiting from all your boons and bonuses should have been baseline.
Just as ranger pets should get a 10% buff from scholar runes. All pets should be treated as extensions of the player not a separate entity.
I also like how you say no discussion on fury sharing and it’s dubiousness concerning mechanics at the only few bosses this build won’t be garbage on.
Theres much worse problems with this build then the dubious ability to make all your attacks benefit from fury being nerfed.
I always wanted the fairness that ranger pets and phantasm wich are so extremly essential for the dps of the profession to be affected by all the boons and modifiers. I mean that’s like engineer kits use their own stats or something like that. It’s just wrong. The only reason why noone seems to care is because it’s always been like this. It’s always been wrong and unfair.

This is just my opinion, but if I had to pick one thing that ranger pets get that phantasms should get, its the ability to stay out until they are dead. It would make life so much better if phantasms were proper summons and didn’t disappear until they were either killed or we shattered them (this would also make the health bonus from persisting images worth something in PvE).
^ Agreed on that. The intention was for Phantasms to be far more of a throw-away pet, but that would require them to do massively more damage than a Rangers pet, which just is not the case and has not been for a long time.
Both the rate of attack and damage done per attack are simply outdated for Phantasms, especially considering their short lifespans.
Many frustrated players are thus rightfully asking for Mesmer mechanics to be changed away from this concept, putting the damage back on the Mesmer. I personally do not care either way, but the problem should be addressed. Either give the damage to the Mesmer, or make an honest concerted effort to bring Phantasms into 2016/2017.

Is it on the table, though?

Hard to say, it’s a pretty cluttered table.
