Sorry if this is duplicating someone else’s work. This is a 0/0/4/4/6 condi-focused build for WvW roaming and small group fights (might be fine in larger groups too)

I was trying to make something that didn’t require deceptive evasion or an extremely high rate of clone production.

The idea is just to start in staff and probably begin the fight with mirror image and phase retreat. At that point, switch to scepter torch and concentrate on landing the scepter block. With a block every six seconds, you can play some decent defense and hopefully land the torment. When it’s time to go back to staff (maybe after two block attempts), use confusing images and cry of frustration plus casting iMage to try to stack confusion (plus torment).

The condi damage seemed high enough that using traveler’s runes didn’t seem like a huge loss. There’s a lot of defense in the build (armor, health, condi removal and stealth). I’m not sure about the overall damage, but it feels like there should be pretty steady pressure from the condi’s (but maybe not enough burst to down someone).

Thoughts?

Blink/Mantra of Conc vs Mirror Images?

I tend to like Mantra of Conc for the small about (would like a small buff) of stability and two uses. I can see pros and cons to each, and suspect it will come down to personal preference.

Starting with staff (i’m not sure, it is a defensive weapon)?, i’d start with scepter (torment whilst they are gap closing seems good), and getting a few free clones. (I wouldn’t waste a stun breaker for a couple of early clones). Then shatter then when my foe was close or more condistions, then swap to staff and phase retreat to maintain the distance.
