Condition+Toughness Build
is this the build I was reading about a couple days ago that causes things to melt from confusion?
any condition build without 15 in duelist is a sub-optimal one in terms of its dps.
warlock is also the worst phantasm you can have for a condition build, since it scales mostly with power.

I don’t know what post you read but no this is not a ‘confusion’ based build, at least that is not how I set out doing it.
Confusion is extremely powerful against players who do not understand how Mesmer confusion works and insist on attacking wit high stacks of confusion!

Maybe you are talking about the bug with iDuelist and the duelist trait that makes his attacks a 100% combo finisher?
My understanding is as it stands now Phantasm wise staff warlock seems to be the best operating phantasm -yes or no?
I came up with a build -probably done a hundred times before- that focuses on high toughness and high condition damage and ask any feedback.
0/0/25/25/20 Staff / Scepter+Focus
Decoy / Phantasmal Disenchanter / Sig of Domi / Time Warp17,582 HP
1910 Toughness
1449 Condition Damage
35% Crit
916 PowerEdit: I changed the neck from Rabid to Shaman since I doubt crit matters and the extra healing is always welcome:
Healing: 894
Toughness: 2,189
Condition dmg: 1,184http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=-NZ-3d;0VPVz0P7gWV71;9;6OOJ;429-23-06-S-F6a;1jwmAjwmA9cT
This is pretty much the build I am currently using. Sure you do not kill things as fast, usually, but you can survive for fkn ages. Also if people insist on attacking with the confusions stacks they can sometimes die almost instantly.
Few differences.
21, 948 HP
1,410 Power
1,359 Precision
1,739 Toughness
1,044 Condition DMG.
Using the same trait setup. 0/0/25/25/20 Staff / Scepter+Focus.
Decoy/Mirror Images/Blink/Time Warp
I usually use TW to kill enemies who are downed as fast as possible or res team mates fast.
This is the funnest build I have tried so far.

I agree to this, but only if you have a half-decent crit chance.
The build we discuss here has only 4% crit chance. The “Sharper Images” trait from 15 pts into Duelist line is worthless when you have such a low crit rate.
On my own Mesmer I basically run a 0/20/20/0/20 build (with 10 spare points to spend, for example 0/25/25/0/20 or 10/20/20/0/20 or whatever you like). Equip is mostly “rabid” with precision/toughness/condition. Weapons are staff + scepter/focus. I create lots of staff clones with Deceptive Evasion, having Vigor up all the time and dodge rolling like crazy while my staff clones do some damage. If this doesn’t work I switch to scepter and try to kill them with confusion.

0/15/20/15/20 but 16k HP, is that too low?

been running a highly effective tough/cond build in wvw since inception. Also vid with build breakdown on channel.
I run a 0/20/20/0/30 condition/toughness build.
Sharper Images and deceptive evasion are too good to pass up.
I usually run Greatsword/Staff. GS clones with Sharper images can crit a lot, stacking up bleeds and Staff clones just pile on conditions anyway.
I basically never use phantasms with this build, sometimes the iWarden, but generally you’ll get more damage from clones.

yeah i agree, you basically need precision/toughness/condition damage gear to make a dps oriented build. otherwise you’re goin 0 damage and full support. such builds have their place, but its not fun to play =/.
Anyone who wants an interesting cond build should check out mine on the build thread. It seems counterintuitive when you just look at it, but it lives for freaking ever.
And I might be conceptually stupid, but why go for DPS on a cond build? I know the crit builds spam bleeds, but is that considered a cond build?
Your weapon sigils need reworking. You cant have two stacking sigils working at the same time. I’d drop the sigil of battle and take the CD stacks.
Drop the 5 from inspirations and put it in illusions. Shatters will give you might, which applies to direct damage AND CD. Also every point in illusions line gives +10 CD.
There’s plenty of things you could do. If you’re going to use your shatters, you might want to take the 5 from chaos and put it in illusions to get 33% more confusion duration (get that CD really working for you). Or keep your points as is but change precise rack for master of misdirection. Then again if you’re going to keep your illusions up, take compounding power (Only if this increases CD, im not sure if it does).
You can go for the chaos line to get your staff CD’s to recharge 20% faster, this will help you generate those clones to apply those CD’s. However you could just switch it with dueling and supplement staff clone creation with Deceptive Evasion. The precision will increase your critting, which will grant you vigor (which means more dodging, which means more clones. This also means more shattering if you want, which means more confusion damage).
