Since we got nerfed all around, I am really enjoying all the effort MESMER are doing to find builds in PVP that could work.

We don’t see QQ and hate thread out of it (like thief or warrior HOT nerfed) from us.

It’s really nice to try the new mesmer build even if they don’t really work out.

I think Mistrust buff is bad because when you are disabled, you can’t attack… so confusions is a wasted on it (or raised the confusions duration by x2).

To make mesmer viable again, i think we would need to customize our stats like we had pre june 2015 patch. So, we could tweak numbers for conditions or power or bunkering builds.

It’s like the amulet is not doing enough versus other classes because our utility skills are less based on dps, condi or bunkering and more on utilities.

Our weapon skill seems to scale less than other with the attribute, so we need to invest more into them to get the same result.

They removed our ability to change attributes, without normalizing all weapon of the game. kittenes! (my QQ of the week).

Good job guyz, I hope mesmer will get some buff before season 2.

you would have 2 best burst class dmg working together with high burst dmg , movement, kiting, joking at everybody
they felt mesmer had one season so now lets give the thief to enjoy

alacrity wont be changed. maybe some skill and utilities reduce cd to be par but not huge buff.

Lots bin said about BnS as well, & yet…lots of gw2 peeps migrated over & are having a blast. BNO, How grindy over HoT can it be? Masteries is mega grindy in my book, so apples & aples. It’s just a question of when it’s fully dead. & i don’t need no monthly numbers to show it when i look at my extensive gw2 friend list with no friends connected on it. Ever!

I’m one of those playing BnS, but I totally acknowledge that BnS is not a gw2 replacement, it’s just not good enough of a game. It has meh pve endgame, the quests are boring and grindy, the story is laughable, the technical systems of the game are a trainwreck, and competing for open world nodes/drops is very very aggravating.

Despite all that, it’s fun for now. The pvp is somewhat entertaining, the combat system is quite good, and class variety is solid. It won’t last forever, but it’s a fun game to spend some time on. BDO appears to have a far less interesting combat system, no good pvp, raw grind for leveling, and no pve endgame content whatsoever, so I don’t see a future for it.

Honestly, that so many of us are playing BnS is a testament to the mind-boggling ability of the GW2 devs to ruin this game. GW2 is so much better in so many ways. Leveling is smoother and more enjoyable, there’s less grind, gear is far easier to obtain (gonna ignore the past year of gear additions). The technical systems are clean, efficient, and function well. The servers are unbelievably well managed with basically zero downtime, the gem store is managed well, open world play is enjoyable due to no competition with other players for resources and mobs. Despite all this…I’m playing BnS instead of GW2 because BnS is fun and GW2 isn’t. It’s honestly an impressive feat to accomplish; taking an incredible game like GW2 and ruining it to the point that people abandon it to far inferior games because they’re more fun.

QQ saturation was reached a long time ago, especially in this sub forum.

I quit my WvW guild, and have been playing planetside 2 for the most part.
I just log in for daily chest, and that’s about it.

I don’t have fun on engineer like I used to. It just feels kind of bleh.
I hate revenant too much to bother playing it.

It is funny that you mention it since there are underlying reasons for it. If one is to get technical, communities tend to develop over aesthethic appeal and broad appeal. Classes that have the first tend to attract alot of players and the players committed to the class tend to get their voices drenched out. Classes that have the second tend to be very volatile with large swings between happiness and unhappiness along with rather extreme ideas on how to get from one to the other.

The Mesmer has never really had any broad aesthetic appeal (it’s an aquired taste) or any broad ingame roles, so the community is likely to be rather small with lower expectations where reasonable and committed players make up a relative large portion of those who post here. Then everyone can get frustrated, disappointed and unhappy from time to time.

See now your post makes some sense and I don’t believe mes is in a great spot either. The other guy though just gutted himself when he compared us to wars of all professions; still I would argue mes still stands higher than war, thief and dh and is potentially on par with druids if portal and moa are used optimally. Just my 2 cents.

Mesmer has been blessed by the fact that the class is not simplistic, and it has not been too powerful when it comes to balance. Thus the class has evaded the terrible scourge that is known as the Flavour of the Month crowd.

Unfortunately if you don’t scream and shout the devs don’t take any notice. Look at how most Warrs handled getting knocked off the top spot. They flamed and abused (breaking pretty much every forum rule with no consequences) anyone who suggested they were overstating how bad warr was for months. I even had Warrs abusing me in game for daring to suggest that the class was still more than viable on the forums. What did they get. They got buffed, while Mes got nerfed into the ground because of one dumb build. This is how the devs try to balance the game. The louder and more obnoxious you are gets results, and the more civilised and more constructive you are gets nerfed. Fact.

I did main bunker guard (5k games on guard). We got nerfed over nerfed for 2 years before passing off meta.

People did complain with valid argument, solutions and anything else.

They did over nerf the build in removing the attributes points from trait lines (summer patch 2015).

Now… well.. no amount of QQ would bring back bunker guard.

We (the mesmer) did bring some concerns to the dev and Gaile. We need to wait to get something out of it…

But… I think we didn’t protect enough our beloved OP build when all the QQ was raging to nerf bunker alacrity mesmer.
