Constant swiftness as Mesmer
I see mesmers roaming in wvw that seem to constantly have swiftness. Is it possible to stack that, how?
Mantra Heal + Centaur Runes
^^ Put Mantra Heal on auto attack with centaur runes, set it on for a while with, perhaps, boon duration buffs. After some while, you’ll have stacked a good amount of swiftness.

More boon/swiftness duration means higher stacks
Otherwise good rune choice + traited focus. There’s a couple ways you can go about it, but pretty much focus is your swiftness access.
If only that useless signet of midnight were a 25% movement speed increase, or signet of inspiration always gave swiftness outside combat.
I just use centaur runes… and actually I prefer to use Mirror Image, because the very short cooldown means that swiftness will have almost no downtime, and in general I find it better than the mantra, since I don’t usually go with mantra builds…
If you don’t want to use any armor rune for that matter, well… sadly we are stuck with Focus that even traited, you have 10 or so seconds of downtime.

Don’t hate on signet of midnight. It’s our only instant cast signet, and with blurred inscriptions and cleansing inscriptions it’s a great last resort when you get focused. (Breaks stun, cleanses immobilise, and gives a second of invulnerability to get away)

Is this sigil of speed? or am missing a sigil of swiftness on crit or hit?
6 Runes of the Traveller in Armour is a nice easy mode: Your swift all of the time though your not getting so much to help combat into your stats.
On the plus side you can use what ever weapon you want though – hence Pistol instead of focus which is great for the phantom that chases and shoots.
I find that I tend to log my Mesmer into WvW because of the easy mode swift as compared to other alts like guard which I don’t have easy mode swift on
pack runes with focus does the trick
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
What I liked doing was centaur runes + a tonic. You use a tonic then exit it and that counts as a healing skill since most tonics have the end transform key where your heal would be. It could also be traveler runes or speed runes…

You’re right, I thought it sounded funny and looked at it twice before posting. Was on my way out to work.
Traveller for me. But then, I almost always run Focus. Sigil of Speed’s an interesting choice, but then you lose out on any “offensive” Sigil in that slot.
Other 80s: Any but Warrior
As stated earlier centaur runes with a tonic works really well. The stats are good for a power based build. When I run a condition build in wvw I use traveler runes.

Or, you can blink away and get the same benefit without having to invest in traits.
If I’m using focus more often I prefer pack runes (or traveler if you want a little redundancy, 33% during swift, 25% during downtime). I typically prefer to run around most areas with dual-swords and staff, so I use the forward phase retreat trick for a minor blink every few seconds or so. Once you get used to doing it, travel without a speed buff isn’t as annoying. It’s a shame our mobility is so low without “needing” something in our equipment to improve it. (You could also acquire a guardian or warrior friend to give you “permaswift”)
Speed booster from Gem store, or BL chests. Gives +15% swiftness.
In a zerg, tons of symbols of swiftness everywhere and a 1200m blink to keep up.
Without my Traveler runes do the trick.
I use centaur runes and the focus. A bonus is you share the heal swiftness from the runes with other players. Temporal Curtain from the focus won’t always benefit others due to its non-stack nature. With timing (and/or good Curtain placement), you can achieve 100% swiftness uptime.
Whilst levelling up, I also use a sigil of swiftness. Sigils of swiftness rack up minutes of swiftness if you kill things fast enough (although maybe not so applicable in WvW). I’ve spent time trying to beat my own record of 6 minutes (or thereabouts) for fun.

Already mentioned, going to remention since they are that good on mesmer:
→ Superior Rune of the Traveler
I did run Centaurs Runes with heal spam and that is a cheap alternative. But Mesmer really benefits greatly from Traveler and that passive 25% speed buff. We aren’t damage machines, so giving up some more damage for that increase in utility and positioning is huge.
Sigil of Speed seems really interesting. Start off the WvW with a quick route of Coyote mayhem to bump up Bloodlust AND as a bonus get 3 min of swiftness, perfect.
