A blink to the enemy would be awesome, actually. Might make OH Sword considerably more enticing compared to Pistol.
I’m thinking a blink away from the enemy might just have ludicrous synergy. Clone > Swap > Blurred + Shatter > iRiposte + blink away.
Yours actually work ? Because I never saw any monster dazed with Counter Blade. I’m not even sure it is working with the dazing traits.
I play glass canon scepter/sword, because it’s relaxing, doing over 5-6K dmg per block. I was playing my Guardian and his blocks are way more responsive and fast. Mesmers blocks are just too slow. Crappy animations.

Well, the Mesmer is already very good at getting away; it’s chasing the enemy that tends to be the problem.

That does sound pretty nice Leo, however I agree more with embolism. Also if your waiting for an attack you’d probably trigger IRiposte before blinking away. I think the skill in question should be another option when watching your opponents reaction to your block. Also an added daze with a little bit of dmg (like the base dmg it has now) would make it viable to interrupt at the end of a combo. – not to mention solve a bit more of the mobility problems people keep pointing out.
A-net please have a look at this thread closely~ Jan-Feb supposed to be big updates right? <3

Indeed. Perhaps if there was a trait that crippled on daze? I’d take that over %50 chance to stun and it keeps its distance from staff and pistol.
I’m not confident in your proposed change as it switches the mechanic to single target from group.
Whatever change is to be made you likely need to maintain the group effect as that is the most basic intention of the power.
The “group” effect is basically non-existent against players, and interrupts are not particularly useful in PvE due to the Unshakable mechanic.
Personally I’ve thought the same on sword once before but I’m pretty sure it should have the particle effect of Guardian Staff auto and daze everyone it hits like that instead of an in line slow moving orb. Near Instant 600 range Daze. . . just for the AoE Interrupt, and so should last no more than half a second instead of it’s 1 sec duration now. That is a tuning change, and not a buff or a nerf for the most part, shorter duration, but far more reliable.

Counter Blade and Counter Spell surely could use some love and rework that’s for sure, not to mention they look and their audio sounds lame too.

Somehow I don’t think it was intended to be as unreliable as it currently is. Same with other skills like iLeap.
I think the intention was “going for a block COM AT ME BRO” waits “nah? DAZE!”
Or
Bursts, puts up Iriposte “COM @ ME BRO” enemy heals "NO U DUN! daze
Not
“going for a block COM AT ME BRO” waits “nah? DAZE!” enemy casually walks to the left while crippled and still miss
So IMO I don’t think reducing the daze is really necessary.

That is undeniable. But line “aoe” is still the mechanic.
Even the the line effect itself isn’t bad, just that it’s connected to a bolt that moves slower then molasses out of a jar. The best way to fix it would be to make it frontal cone AoE instant, but barring that increasing the movespeed of it to Ranger Shortbow auto attack would probably be fine, though I stand by making it frontal cone AoE and reducing the daze (reason for reducing it’s duration is that it would reliably hit many targets for that short duration and interupt everything, which might seem OP if 1 sec on a 12 sec CD, but as only an interrupt for 0.5 sec or 0.25 would make it not feel very OP while performing the same function and not need a longer CD because of it)

Hardly ever use it, just too unreliable, i love riposte tho, counterblade is one of those things i just feel could be tightened up animation and speed wise.
But i get that feeling with heals and a lot of stuff in this game as well, if im taking 10k killshots and 11k backstabs i want that heal instantly, not after some ghey animation.
