I’m slightly unsure why the completely separate game mechanic has been nerfed – under the guise of calling it a bug? Honestly felt it added some good variety to the game and really did not require this ‘fix’.

It was a nerf targeted at PU builds.

As usual, it actually hits all non-PU builds that use decoy harder than it hits PU builds.

Another call a spade a spade situation. Clearly an intended feature, obvious by the fact it existed in both the utility and trait. However changed due to a change of mind, probably some sort of stealth/revealed consistency.

Anet just needs to be more transparent about this instead of lumping it under an overly broad category called “bug fixes”. Their obvious intention is to change it either way, so ohwell, get on with your day.

I called almost this entire update and you guys all made fun of me!

I think Decoy will be changed to be impacted by Revealed. (Let’s face it, every one of us had a “Wait, what?” moment when we learned that it didn’t.) It might be buffed in some other fashion to keep it desirable, but that small change would knock down PU just a little bit in this new Revealed meta they seem to be slowly rolling out.

(Added bonus was guessing the AoE mantras in that same exact post. The only thing I got completely wrong was DE, and I still think that one is a matter of time… but that’s getting off topic.)

The fact is, bug or not, it was inconsistent game design. It doesn’t matter from a game_play_ perspective whether “Decoy” was “Stealth” or not; the effect other players see is the mesmer “going into stealth.” As a result, anyone applying Revealed is met with frustration and cries of “hax” (if not literal hacking) when the mesmer proceeds to bypass an entire effect with the very same effect intended to be prevented.

This is one nerf/fix I completely agree with. The more important question I have to ask is: Is the clone still created if the skill is used under Revealed? Same for the stun break. I can guess the answer, but I don’t have the Peoples needed to test this myself.

Because they have an inexperienced balance team and ANET’s internal structure doesn’t seem to have any direction. Lots of ex-anet employees have said that they experienced almost no guidance or “goal”. They need to restructure that company >_>"

It’s the same with FGS “working as intended” then saying it’s bugged.

At least Sw#3 is somewhat usable again.

Okay. Mesmer stealth got jacked up…

It was fine that mesmer had their own unique stealth…

Trying to play power PU in spvp and this so-called stealth “fix” is really irritating…

Edit:
I don’t see how Thief and Mesmer stealth are any different now…
Getting it to stack? Really?
I really miss our stealth function….
