This goes out to the asura only, i want to hear your opinions if you like it or not, or if you feel like its wasted, and you could’ve used your laurels on smth else.

The reason is.. i got couple of classes, but i want one that i can give everything to, with this i mean; spending all my laurels on AC gear only for my mesmer, probably a legendary like bolt someday, and so on.. but the thing is, my mesmer is an asura, and the weps/armor details are not the best..

I would really like having one class, just one, which could do fine for everything (dungeons, spvp, wvw etc), and mesmer seems to be the choice, but its already level 56, and took my some time to get it there, and its not the most fun char to level..
what should i do? any suggestions?
Should i probably reroll it into either sylvari or human, or should i give it a try and level it all the way to 80, and see how i like it? – Still i doubt i will buy a legendary if its a mesmer..

Is it worth keeping in mind the fact you can buy a character makeover kit, and change to any race you want?

Except you can’t.

its not as you cant change race with kit.

i dont understand if the problem is the race, the class or both. asura can be either loved or hated, imo its a nice race but weapons are way too small compared to others.
mesmer is a great class, any legendary will fit.
you must decide if you want an asura or not, if you like it then its worth to equip it with a legendary.

its the race.. i really like it, but i think the weapons and armors are to small, so i dont feel like buying legendaries and stuff for it..

I’m in the same pool, i’ve played NOTHING but an asura (One of my main focuses for coming to GW2 after my old MMO Flyff died.), and i’m a bit itchy about the legendary deal, Bolt is what i’m debating, along with several others, but it’s not the weapon size thats the issue, it’s the effects which are huge in proportion to the Asura. ~

I’ve just finished crafting my legendary bolt last night. (Took about 3months of COF farming) The animations are very much worth it. I have it on my Human Mesmer and I transmuted on to my Asura Mesmer. The weapon does indeed look smaller but I can’t help but notice that blur frenzy looks way cooler on the Asura. I probably will stick it on my human more since its geared out with ascended trinkets. If Mesmer might not be the class for you, perhaps you can try the new overpowered S/D thief builds haha.

How do you have it on both? I thought transmuting it transmuted the original and didn’t make a copy to give to another character?

I completed the Legendary quest for Flameseeker Prophecies on my Norn guardian, but I play my mesmer just as much these days and she is Asuran. If I was going to do it again for one for her, I’d go for one of the flashier Legendaries since I think they show up better on a smaller model – maybe Bolt or Sunrise.

I love Bifrost but am not sure how it looks on an Asuran – it is a little more subtle than both of the above.

Actually, my Norn also has all of my Ascended items – so now I have to do that all over again for the mesmer as well, sigh.

I have 1 80 mesmer and the asura mesmer is just for banking items lol. You can transmute it to a white or blue item making it account bound thus allowing your other chars to equip it.

P.S. the new extra animation on kill with bolt gives a similar animation when you kill mobs with elementalist lighting attacks.

I have three Asuran mesmers, one lvl80, one 30 and one 16. I used them as jumping puzzle mules during the Legendary quest and then for extra siege blueprints, and subsequently leveled one of them to 80 afterwards.

They look almost identical (different hair) – I just pretend they’re sisters.

I was thinking about farming AC gear for my mesmer, if it was a human, or atleast bigger..
I mean.. i would go for the glowing back pack item, maybe a sunrise/twillight, you name it, but i just dont feel like it now its so tiny.
