Q:
Do Mesmers want stealth specialization ?
No, but I, not* sure if the community too, would like to use a dagger.
Nah, I’d rather have an evade spam specialization. That way I can feel superior to stealth users without actually being any more skilled than they are.
You mean PU 2.0? Nah, I’m good. Lets first worry about getting a sustainable spec, more reliable mechanic (AI can be meh), and getting rid of DE requirements for so many builds.

Yeah were escape artiste..we need a spam escape thingny.. fast & no cooldown
I’d rather have a specialization that focused on large aoe control and light damage; as in a set of skills that all have increased maximum target caps.
Aoe cc does sound nice….
But to answer your question, no. Stealth was never really intended for mesmers to have an overabundance of (even though some would argue we already do). Personally I don’t really see the point, there are far better alternatives to a stealth based specialisation.
The Corrupt Mesmer Builds
i can’t speak for the community, so i will speak for myself:
no.
Personally i think the stealth uptime of [Decoy]&[Mass Invis] and maybe [Prestige] as well (as long as it isn’t coupled with PU) is more than adequate. I would like to avoid the mesmer becoming a (albeit weaker) “D/P Thief 2.0” (or every-thief-with-offhand-dagger-against-AI-classes 2.0)
Stealth is always fun, but it is not necessary imo.
However, I would love some more mobility!
Nope. I’d rather have some useful utility and control, which is where we’re more centered about.
Control spec or bust. Not to mention, the last thing I want to see is Mesmer build diversity getting shafted like Thief. (Seriously, ANet really loaded the hell outta Shadow Arts. Acrobatics gets short shift by comparison …).

I can actually speak for the community so I’m just going to go ahead and say No.
If any members of the community don’t like that, to bad :p
I don’t want that. I’d rather take:
- A specialization that focuses on CC and especially on interruption
- A specialization that builds around clones by having more difference in them than just being shatter fodder/running
- A specialization that focuses on phantasms
- A specialization that makes exessive use of chaos making all abilities getting RNG stuff (that may sound like hard bullkitten but with the right choices a RNG based class could be really fun — things like BI/CI are good examples)
- A specialization that focuses on hard support (maybe like boonstorm without the extremly high dps loss)
